Very popular with adults and children. We now have a season ticket as this is adventure each school holiday. The train journey starts the excitement then Dungerness is the highlight as the light house comes into view. The railway café is very inviting and not expensive so its hot chocolate for all. Thoroughly recommend it.

At the RHDR you can see loads of mini steam locomotive that pull you along at about 25 MP. The New Romny to Hythe is a double track section so trains pass you every now and again...

Miniature steam railway that runs from Hythe to Dungeness. I thought the tickets were a bit pricey but it was a nice experience to travel back in time with the smell of a steam train, and if you are a customer the car parks are free for you to use. This is a miniature railway so beware the carriages are... More

A good way to pass a cold winter's day. Great if you are a train enthusiast or have small children. Carriages are somewhat cramped but then it is a miniature railway. Some views are good but quite a lot of the track passes between the backs of houses.

I love a steam train so it was a treat to go on these miniature trains from Dungeness to Hythe, at New Romney you can visit the sheds and watch the engineers working on the engines, kids will love it all

We regularly visit here with children, grandparents and dog. It is pricey but the rover ticket means you can use the trains all day in any direction. There is a turntable at Hythe. Lovely sandy beaches. Little fun fair at Dymchurch is well worth a visit as the rides aren't over priced. Suits small children. Lovely cafe at Romney and... More

The RHDR is always a pleasure, however many times we use it. The model railway and exhibition at New Romney seems better than ever and for railway enthusiasts it had a great collection of books for sale on our last visit. The cafe there is a good spot to take on refreshment. The railway car park at Hythe has been... More

We visited the RH&DR in January and joined the first train of the morning from Dungeness to Hythe. The station at Dungeness also includes a large cafe with friendly staff. The only let down was that the chip and pin machine rejected all three of our cards (all accounts had money in them) and we were told that this is... More
