Such a pity that after planning and so looking for to our annual picnic on a row boat, making arrangements with others, and finally being allowed to be out, when we arrived yesterday Tuesday 8th June, there was a sign saying it was closed. And yes, were we extremely disappointed! We'd travelled quite a long distance for this special outing. We'd even checked their website to make sure it was opening, which it said it was. If you're going to have a website, but not bother to give correct information, what's the point!!! So very disappointed.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a sunny afternoon in August on one of the rowing boats on the canal. We were on there for an hour but it was long enough for us. We may do 2 hours next time. It was only £12 (£6 each) for the hour which is great value. Shame neither of us could row! But it was still very enjoyable.

We came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon and we really enjoyed rowing down the canal for an hour. It was £6 per person which I thought was reasonable, and the guys running it were great at helping us in and out of the boat. We managed to see a lot of wildlife too, ducks and even an adder snake! Definitely recommend but keep track of time, we had to rush to get back in time!

My friend and I hired a boat on 06/06/19. This was a fun little adventure along a beautiful canal. I can’t recommend it enough. Alan the boatman is a kind, charming gentleman with a hilarious dry sense of humour. He gave us a little extra time for free and clearly loves and cares for his business. Alan explained to us that because of health and safety rules and insurance purposes he is only allowed a certain amount of people per boat. Unfortunately because he has to abide by these rules people have been abusive towards him and written unfavourable reviews. Please go and enjoy a trip with him but understand and respect that he has a responsibility to look after you and his business.

After we got the hang of rowing we had a great hour in the beauttiful scenery and we even got a glimpse of the miniature railway. Very well priced too.
