As a family on a beach holiday, we love an ice cream or too. Makcari's has to be the best in Herne bay by far. So many flavours to choose from and very happy for the kids to try a couple of flavours before making up their minds. For someone who doesn't have dairy, being able to choose between 3... More

This seems a very good price to go to if you are walking along the promenade. Has shops and facilities here. You even get a small little band hear or some kind of show

It's an OK place to just sit and depending on who else is around possibly relax. Not at all impressed with the food and drinks from the café, but their Ice Cream was good. Nothing on whist we were there, but I can imagine the place is transformed with the right music. Lots of people around on a sunny day.

Went along today to walk the promenade and ending up sitting in the grandstand as there was a Belgium Band playing. Lots of chairs were out and a few spaces to just sat down for a free Music event and very good too. Lots of people enjoying this place as there are also a couple of places there for food... More

A great Italian style ice-cream parlour the children will love it. The service is good and the staff children friendly. Superior to Broadstairs in my opinion.

Sunday packed with lots of fun for the whole family. Some very famous faces at the bandstand doing live cartooning. Well worth a visit..

This is an attractive example of a historic building being put to good use. You often find craft fairs going on, quirky items that make lovely gifts. We often visit when these are on because we love the various stalls there. The grandchildren enjoy their ice-cream treats from Mckaris there, the tea room isn't overly expensive for a break for... A monument to the great British Seaside but also to how not to make use of a great asset. The bandstand is partly occupied by a coffee shop and bar, with tables to the rear. There is a stage which is used for concerts, sometimes. I have seen art exhibitions here, from the local artists but the space feels underused,... More

An enclosed suntrap. A perfect place to enjoy free entertainment either with hot or cold drinks, cakes or curry at a sheltered spot with a sea view. Just the ideal way to spend a lazy day.
