We booked 2 tickets to see NIGHTWATCH a local band.
Booking was easy and straight forward. The venue is on the water front with good access. Staff attentive and friendly. A safe one way system was in place with lots of sanitiser stations dotted around.
We were ushered to our seats. Only 50 people per session in a big hall so we felt super safe. Table service was extremely efficient with a WhatsApp ordering system in place.
Very lovely, spacious venue. We would highly recommend. Video clip is a little blurry but hopefully shows the large distance between each table.

We visited the Kings Hall on a sunny Sunday afternoon with our grandchildren to see the Titanic ‘Honour & Glory’ exhibition. We had travelled here by car and there is a good amount of (pay & display) parking along the seafront and also street parking close by if you can find a space. Herne Bay railway station is just over a mile away if you walk. This review will concentrate on the venue, its facilities and the overall visitor experience as opposed to the content of the exhibition itself.
The Kings hall is located on Herne Bay seafront to the east of the main beach area and cut into the banked area of ground sloping down to the sea. It is a lovely turn of the (20th) century Edwardian brick built structure with some elegant metal uprights supporting a surrounding canopy. It has an open concrete amphitheatre area above the hall with a small stage. Below this is the hall itself and what appeared to be public toilets were open available to the right hand side.
Outside, the hall had a facility selling hot & cold drinks and snacks and seating with tables which was well patronised on the day of our visit. Entrance to the hall is via a foyer and this had an opening for selling refreshments as you entered, though this was not in use for our visit, potential customers being asked to use the outside facility.
The main auditorium is large enough to accommodate an exhibition such as the ‘Honour & Glory’ one and there was plenty of room to move freely around the various exhibits and get a good view. At one end was a stage and this was being used to show occasional audio / video enhancement to the static exhibits.
Having been delayed from earlier in the year and still subject to some Covid 19 restrictions, access to the hall was by means of timed slots though there was no restriction in place as to how long you could spend in the exhibition.
The few members of staff that we came into contact with were friendly and helpful enough.

Two tribute acts at their best. Mike Appleton as Buble was superb as opening act and Dan Maines as Gary Barlow was also fantastic. The nice surprise of the evening was when his band members of Rule the World came on and help him out with a few numbers starting off with Shine. Then Mike Appleton and Dan Maines came back on stage at the end (around 11pm) to sing two songs together and then the whole of the Fake That members came on as well. Kings Hall had plenty of tables set up, still left room for people to dance and a good time was enjoyed by all. Well done Herne Bay promo for getting them together and I hope they will be back next year.

We went to see Reg E Mental a local magician at the Kings Hall today and he was fab. Parking is sparse on event days so make sure to leave a good 15 minutes for searching for a spot - or park a little way out and walk the last 5 minutes.
There is a small serving hatch that offers plenty of food and drink at very reasonable prices. It's not the Ritz so don't expect that but does a fantastic job. The staff are helpful and polite (always a bonus) and there are plenty of toilets (great for with little ones).
Situated directly on the sea front once an event is over there is plenty to do - if you like beaches (my children adored throwing stones in to the water and wandering with the many dogs).
The event today was free with any donations going to help future events.

Went down to watch this ELO tribute band on Saturday evening 10th February 2018 - the group was really good - all very good musicians in their own right & sounded just like the real ELO - the venue was full & sold out so a packed house enjoyed a really good show - good value too at only £10 a ticket.

Went here to see Omid djilli, got there reasonably early an had no problem getting a seat although it soon filled up, went to the bar an got a lager, no problem, the second lager though was an issue it transpires, asked for a fosters, ran out!!, ran out!! Its not even officially open yet ffs, asked for a becks draught, flat as you bloody hat, so went for wine, that said the staff were really apologetic and attentive, one young girl( I’m sorry i forget your name) but she had a tattoo on her neck, but this young lady will go far, she was clearly new but she could show a-lot of people how to do customer service, 100% to you girl, also big shout out to the management, well organised, controlled, top job!
Overall top-top night, and getting back to my original point.... omid is by far THE funniest comedian I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a few, if you can please go see him you will laugh at him, yourself, your beliefs and the world like you didn’t think you would.
Omid, if you happen to read this, whens the next gig because I’m most definitely in , top top top gig , simply brilliant!

How is the parking at kings hall ?
Written March 20, 2018
Theres not much, parking is on the road basically, it is free if you can park but the main car park in herne bay is chargeable and a 15 min walk along the prom, its free parking on the sea front for 4 hrs up to the end of march but kings hall itself has NO parking of its own as its directly on the sea front with a grass bank behind it.
Tip.. if you fancy a tipple before your show, the ship ( 3 min walk) is a great pub on the seafront and also the oldest pub in herne bay, really great food, great atmosphere, great locals, see you in there, let me know if this helps
