Saturday afternoon was our first time at The Pub. Many thanks to owner & landlord Richard for making us so welcome. Wonderful Kent (mainly) beers that are very well kept and perfect temperature. The pub is nice and open with fascinating art on the walls, a record player, and even a little beer garden for anyone who wants it. We met some lovely locals too. Cheers! - James/Patrick/Tanya

On holiday in Ramsgate, had day trips to Herne Bay and Whitstable, during which I visited nine micro pubs. The average cost of a half pint of real cider (excluding Wetherspoon) was around £2.25, The Pub was the cheapest at £2. They had a good range, at least half dozen boxes; Westons and the local Dudda's Tun. I had Dudda's Bone Dry, best cider I had that day.

Stopped in to this newly opened micropub with a few friends and was pleasantly surprised by the crisp decor and the interesting selection of real ales. There is subtle background music and wine & spirits for the non ale drinkers. There was a good atmosphere and ages ranged from the early 20s to the over 60s. Will go again for sure.

I met a friend for dinner specifically here because they had a vegetarian/vegan menu, we checked online first and booked. When I looked at the menu it was confusing as some of the starters were marked VG for vegan, but the mains were VE. I was told that was an error and VE meant vegan too. So I chose the spaghetti, marked VE, but was told the spaghetti was not vegan. 🤷🏻♀️ So I asked about the Moving Mountain Burger and I could have the burger on its own, but not the bun. I don’t like risotto so my options were out at that point, so I had two starters for my main. My friend who eats meat had Hunters Chicken and the waitress asked her if she would like vegan cheese on her chicken 🤣 why?? Haha
The pub itself used to be a really cosy pub and is now quite large. My friend felt it didn’t know if it was a pub or a restaurant. There was no soft furnishings so it was very loud with people talking and music blaring and we had to shout at one another to have a conversation.
The staff were ace! Really attentive and caring. We couldn’t fault them and that’s why we tipped, otherwise we wouldn’t have bothered.
They have a very extensive menu. They would be better off reducing the menu and doing a few things really well. Take a look at The Red Lion at Herne Hill. One menu and they do it really well.

I wish every pub were like this place. Perfect for both a quiet drink, or a good laugh with some great people. If you haven't visited, you're missing out.
