Sadly this lovely place has finally become a big dog toilet. Went today thinking the summer months and increased usage by people would encourage a responsible mind set. But no. It's worse than ever. Forget letting kids explore. There's cack on every verge. Every 2ft along the path. Dog mess everywhere. On arrival a big white van full of dogs... More

These are beautiful woods and it fills me with awe to walk through them. Amazing to have them so close to home. Blessed to be living in England and absolutely love this area in general. Will admit the woods seem a little spooky to me though - all part of the fun. I do actually have a dog and really... More

This wood is just outside Herne Bay and leads to Clowes Wood in Whitstable. It's a relaxing place to visit. Highly recommended. *** There's no facilities at this location.***

A lovely walk for all has been put together by Kent wildlife trust with interesting features, carvings and wicker figures. Young and old, able bodied and infirm could access with purpose built gravel track a lovely area of forest and take part in activities, picnic and enjoy nature. But no more. Sadly this lovely spot has been taken over by... More

A thousand years of history here! Ancient trees and tracks through well marked footpaths. Once church property. Haunt of charcoal burners, the chestnut gatherers, outlaws and drovers. Nightingale in springtime, nightjars, woodpecker, rare butterflies, orchids, and perfect playground for children and dogs!

I just love these woods, they are great for dogs and walkers. Beware of the cycles, they do tend to creep up on you at speed! Take care not to get lost f you wander off the tracks.
