What an Amazing Experience
Aug 2021
My Christmas present for last year. Had an amazing time. very friendly welcome on arrival and for pre flight briefing. Short delay with logistics problems and refuelling of helicopter but was soon underway.
The first sight of the Spitfire coming alongside was a sight to remember. Then followed closely for the rest of the journey over several sights and costal areas (Capel Battle of Britain Museum, Channel Tunnel, Southern Coast)
Also purchased the "sit in a Spitfire" option. The whole experience was one long photo opportunity.

The best 50th Birthday present we could have given 😊
Aug 2021 • Couples
Not going to lie, we are still buzzing from Ian’s flight in a Spitfire yesterday 😊🇬🇧

Making memories is precious, but having something tangible for Ian from the experience is priceless so thank you for the awesome signed print of Elizabeth 🇬🇧

Thank you Parky for being a real gentleman, brilliant company, being the most fantastic Spitfire pilot, giving Ian the flight of his flight and most important... looking after my man and keeping him safe 😊 you kept your promise 🥰 🇬🇧🇬🇧

PS Massive thanks to Aero Legends - all the staff and ground-crew as well 👍 They looked after us all incredibly well and made it a special day for not only Ian, but our little gang as well xx💖💞💖xx

Battle of Britain air display June 2021
Jun 2021
The Battle of Britain air diplay June 2021 hosted by Aero Legends was a wonderful experience and great day out.
The weather curtailed some of the flying with the Red Arrows unable to display but, the Spitfires, Hurricane ME109, B17 Flying Fortress and Dakota's showing their capability in true fashion - brilliant!
The 'trading' and food area was well organised and there was plenty of room even though it was a well attended show.
A well organised event, thank you!

Spitfire Enclosure tickets - a complete rip off. Avoid at all costs

Battle of Britain Airshow - Spitfire Enclosure
We attended the Headcorn Battle of Britain Airshow last year (2020), and although the flying was limited due to the weather, we enjoyed the Spitfire Enclosure. It was uncrowded, and the meals were decent. Although expensive, we did not feel ripped off. It was a pleasant day despite the weather and lack of flying.

We decided to repeat the experience this year. What a disappointment! On arrival, we expected to park in the reserved area for the Spitfire enclosure, and although arriving in plenty of time (10:30) , we were told that the Spitfire enclosure car park was full, and we were directed back into the public car park, and had to park at the opposite end of the airfield. This was annoying because we had not expected to walk a long distance over damp grass, but although disappointed, we were still looking forwards to the Airshow and hospitality. However…. We now had to queue at the main public entrance where although there were a number of attendants checking tickets and giving out passes, the queue were not short. We chose the nearest queue and waited in line. Eventually we got to the front of the queue, but were told that we had to join another queue on the extreme right because there were no Spitfire enclosure passes at that kiosk that we had queued to get to. So….. we queued again. Then - once we reached chap at the desk and enquired about the Spitfire car park, he said there had been car park issues, and gave us our wrist bands. We assumed that the Spitfire enclosure carpark may have been too muddy for safe parking. We did not at that point assume incompetence by the car park attendees, who has apparently waved anybody into the Spitfire Enclosure carpark even if they had not bought the appropriate, and expensive Spitfire enclosure ticket.

Once we walked the length of the airfield to reach the Spitfire enclosure, we were not greeted by anyone, so had no clue about the seating or food arrangements. We picked a table on the marquee and sat down. However, unlike last year, there was virtually no organisation, and because the queue for coffee was very long and not very socially distanced, I elected to go outside to one of the many pay kiosks to buy a couple of lattes.

Once back inside my wife said that everyone in the queue was picking up a paper bag which appeared to contain food. I investigated, and she was correct. Our premium experience lunch was equivalent to a supermarket meal deal - a small sausage roll, a triangle pack of sandwiches and a tub of coleslaw and and another of some sort of vegetable. Very different from the choice of roast dinner last year.

As for the flight line experience? Because there was a picket fenced enclosure containing a Spitfire and some other rather random non Battle of Britain aircraft within the Spitfire enclosure, the only way we could get to the flight line was to go either side of the enclosed enclosure …. Which ofcourse everyone was doing - meaning that the uncrowned experience of last year was replaced by a lot of jostling photographers pushing in amongst us unapologetically - as if having a long lens entitled them to push in. We could have sat at a table outside, but they were far from the flight line , and too few in number. We would have had a more comfortable and less expensive time had we paid for a flight line ticket. At least there, the viewing was more central, and there was a large number of Spitfires (and a Buchon) directly in front of the nicely socially distanced tables and chairs. In fact, we could have bought a 3 day pass for this enclosure for less than the price of our single day tickets

Of course, the weather was not ideal, so the Red arrows flew overhead, giving us a fleeting glimpse through the clouds before they abandoned the display. The rest of the Airshow was enjoyable, even with the Battle of Britain memorial flight failing to turn up because of the weather. The weather was not within the control of the organisers…. The premium Spitfire Enclosure experience was. And it was an overpriced shambles. We will not be repeating our mistake next year. Having paid £95.00 each for a supermarket lunch bag and a jostling, crowded Viewing experience with inadequate seating , we left before the end of the Airshow to avoid being trapped in queue leaving the Airshow. Such a disappointing experience. What was supposed to be a birthday treat turned out to be a disorganised shambles and a complete rip off.

What an experience!
May 2021
Weekend of Sat May 29th 2021 Finally realised my lifelong dream of flying with a spitfire and Hurricane. Bought by my family for my 60th Birthday. Covid got in the way slightly but the team at Aero Legends did a fantastic job of bringing it all together for me. Perfect weather up we went flying towards Dover with these two iconic aircraft escorting us. The pilots worked hard to keep the aircraft as close to us as possible giving us superb views of both aircraft. I must admit several times to getting a lump in my throat. Over Dover the white cliffs tears welling up in my eyes. On the return trip the two pilots then showed us what these two aircraft were really capable of by attacking our helicopter and dog fighting with each other. I got a feeling of what the young German pilots must have felt like when they ventured into our airspace. Back on the ground as I found out on my return my wife and family were having a whale of a time watching all the aircraft activity going on around them. Smiles all round. Got to sit in the Spitfire after the flight another very emotional experience for me.
Then on the Sunday my flight experience in the T6 Harvard. after being safely strapped in by Barrie Podger, a great friendly guy who settled all the nerves then we took to the air with my pilot Mike Pickin a young mad who certainly knows how to fly. Close up look at Leeds Castle followed by some acrobatic stuff a barrel roll followed by a loop the loop. Then getting to fly the T6 myself. What a weekend I am still smiling ear to ear two weeks later.
If you are thinking of doing this sort of thing do it with Aero Legends they really pull out all the stops to make it a memorable experience. Life is not a practice run we are here only once. If you are contemplating booking this DO IT.
My heartfelt thanks to my family and much appreciation to Aero Legends for the whole experience. It couldn't have been better. Well it could... I actually would now like to fly in a Spitfire..... Watch this space!

I bought the tiger moth 30 minute experience and I have to say the whole experience was brilliant.
The staff from the reception to the pilot where wonderful and could not be more helpful and knowledgeable. The pilot Olie was so professional and on my wife's pre flight talk he asked her what she wanted to achieve. He put her at ease and was so nice it made the whole experience that little bit special.
Once up in the air my wife had a magical time. The ground crew where brilliant and my daughter was allowed to take Close up photos of my wife in the cockpit and on exit some just lovely memory photos.
The in-flight video that we purchased was another absolutely memorable part of the day (that is a must) the quality of the video was wonderful and my wife (Julie) felt like she was back in the cockpit again.
A definite 10 out of 10 and Ollie is so much a people person it made the day that little bit more.
