I visited Hempstead valley shopping centre on Sunday 10th September and whilst walking through the centre one of the security guards walked directly towards us looking straight at us and almost knocked my kid over and proceeded to shoulder barge me and stared at me like he was looking for a fight. We approached another member of centre management who was totally uninterested.

The public toilets were blocked up or out of order and stank.

On a previous visit during some heavy rain water was pouring through the ceilings causing hazards all around the place, clearly the 1970s centre has not been well maintained.

All in all not a good experience!

Staff should make sure food order is correct! Make sure all the food on the plate is of similar temperature! Make sure condiments are with the order!
After latest refurb of this establishment the food was acceptable, prices have recently increased, quality has decreased.
Cafe was not that busy staff were not under pressure. Estimated 20% to 25% customer volume.
will not be using this establishment again😟

This is not a reflection on Hempstead Valley or Sainsbury's . but Sainsbury's cafe.
Totally disorganised, when 4 meals ordered, 3 of which were Cod and chips. All arrived at 1 at a time with a big gap in between. other tables were having same problems. Poor quality as tasted oven cooked from frozen range. you would expect all meals to be served at the same time. (between 10 - 15 minutes) a total shambles.
will not return and recommend avoiding at all costs.

What on earth have they done to the underground car park. Lovely if you are disabled, with hundreds of large empty spaces. If you are not registered disabled and drive anything other than a mini car you are in big trouble. The parking spaces have been reduced in width so that the there is now just enough room to park your car, but not to get out. What Pea Brain thought this one out! This must be a Medway Council Thing. Over extensive use of a site. Cram a few more parking spaces, and get more customers, instead of making it easier for them. There are plenty of parking places on the whole site. It is not as is you have to pay to park for Christ sake. There is a British Saying. If it isn't broke don't fix it!

Hempstead valley advertise free parking but have employed a company called UKPC who will do there very best to give you a parking ticket. That's how much they value your custom here.

I visited Sainsbury's cafe after 2019. The ambiance was lovely, but the food quality was very bad. Me and my husband ordered fish and peas. Except peas , the fish and chips quality of food was really bad. Will never visit again.

Often use this shopping centre. Usually a good experience but the mall heating has obviously been turned off making it cold and uncomfortable. This is particularly so using the Costa Coffee shop in the mall.

This is a nice little shopping centre and we had no trouble parking.

There were plenty of shops to keep us occupied for an hour or so and everything is under cover.

We found they had everything we needed and there are some nice places to eat.

Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre is definitely worth a visit.

I visited Hempstead Valley shopping centre again during the week with my daughter as I wanted to look at some baby clothes.

There are plenty of shops there but I was surprised to find that TK Maxx had lots of good quality, reasonably priced baby clothes and I was really spoilt for choice. I bought loads of lovely outfits and was really pleased with my purchases.

Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre is definitely worth a visit.

Looking like a run down 60s work canteen this place looks like its seen better days.
Overpriced drinks & greasy spoon microwave slop served on your plate by miserable staff.
A far cry from years ago when this cafe was once very popular. At least the food was edible & you could enjoy a decent drink with your meal.
What has happened?
Sainsburys seriously need to take a reality check on the running of this place.
STAY AWAY!
