Lovely cinema with very friendly helpful staff . This cinema may not have all the things you get at a multiplex but it makes up for it in its historical quirkiness

Just back from another great night at the Royal Cinema. Friendly staff, making you feel welcome and like they really appreciate your support of the independents!

Great value tickets, snacks, drinks etc - no feeling of rip off here !
Well done to you all - thank you so much for a brilliant evening - we'll be back.

Oh and the film (le mans) was superb !!

Outstanding survivor - a 'large screen cinema' from 1936.
Sep 2019
The Royal is the former Odeon of 1936 and is now listed as Grade II to reflect it's virtually unchanged interior and exterior. Unlike some other survivors it's run commercially and the locals appear appreciative of the facility. The latest projection technology allows appreciation of the programme which includes the latest releases.

Regular visit to local cinema

I have used this cinema the whole of my life and if you want a friendly old fashioned lovely cinema experience then this is the place to visit. Food is extreamly cheap and most items are 1 pound unlike big cinemas. Just enjoy stepping back in time in wonderful historic faversham

Great experience and amazing value

First visit came on recommendation, an unusual place but a great experience and so reasonably priced. Plenty of room and a no booking service, so first come first served but we went on a Sunday evening and plenty of seats. Cannot buy a wine of beer :( but plenty of popcorn, ice cream and soft drinks - we will be coming back - thank you :)

I love our cinema. We are so lucky to have it and is run by truly lovely people. It gets new films very quickly and has a great element of nostalgia. And very reasonably priced!

Great little cinema- like stepping back in time

I’ve seen a number of films at the Royal and it’s always been a good experience. Plenty of seating with good uninterrupted views of the screen. The building itself is from another age and worth a visit if your Interested in the history of cinema in the uk yet it shows Very current films on good modern equipment with decent sound. It’s not the gin palace first class lounge that some have become and charge high prices to attend - and in which I often drift off to sleep.
It is impressively good value and runs a cinema club every week at even cheaper prices. The usual goodies are available to purchase before or at intermission and Lois too.
It always takes me back to being a boy in the hey day of the cinema - it deserves our support as it a local employer and an assets to the town.

What's not to love...

We should celebrate the things that are great on our doorstep but that are often taken for granted. The Royal cinema offers all the latest films plus plenty of interesting titles for a tiny price compared to the ubiquitous and expensive multiplexes and does so with a charming level of service and in a beautiful old building. If you would otherwise go to the Odeon in Canterbury or worse still Cineworld in Ashford then please think about coming here. You will save a fortune on both ticket prices and drinks and snacks, have a delightful and comfortable experience and the best service, with staff on the door to wish you goodnight as you leave
