A wet pub/sports bar.
Sep 2021
Sad that several pubs in the main street are closed and empty but those who remain seem to be trying hard to target punters. This place that was quiet after lunch does no food but has a selection of predictable popular booze, 3 or maybe 4 or more TVs all with a different Sky Sports channel although the hospitable lady behind the bar enthusiastically and repeatedly offered to change any one to our choice. We concluded that she was reluctant to have the cricket Test match on for starters but that if oddballs like us would stay for a couple then she could be infinitely flexible.

Repeat visits
May 2017
My parents live relatively close to the King and Queen and whenever we go to visit them in the UK, we take them out for dinner on our last evening and they always choose the King and Queen as it is their favourite.

I have never been disappointed after several visits - it is very relaxed yet correct. Tables need to be reserved in advance and yet there is no rush to push people towards their table - having a drink in the bar area before sitting down is perfectly fine and there is no pressure to be seated at the reservation time.

The food is great, the staff are very friendly and professional and the location is quite scenic.

I am always happy to return on our visits to the UK, and would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to eat out in the area

It was a lovely evening
Aug 2016 • Family
I had a lovely evening with my family an amazing waitress named Alicia. She did a great job to make us feel welcome even though she was rushed around due to the amount of people in there she was amazing. The only problem was who I believe to be the landlord made me feel uncomfortable don't know why just something personal with me I guess. Other than that it was great.

Under new management!
Aug 2016 • Family
This is my local, so it's so nice that it's open again. We went the first weekend it was open. Selection of beers is brilliant and the wine I had was pretty good. Food was so-so, but I fully expect it to get better. Highly recommended if you're a lover of real ale and craft beer!

New owners popped in for a drink
Aug 2016 • Family
If your a CAMRA member or craft beer/ale lover like me you'll love this venue. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The old place has had a clean and healthy refurb. It looks miles better than the old pub.

It's now presented as a friendly craft ale and gastro venue. Nice small garden out back and great value food (which we will return to try).

5/5 on service, knowledge, value and beer.

If your local it's so worth a visit even for a swift pint.

A hen do without bride
Jul 2016 • Friends
For a pub that had been shut for a while it was unpredictable of when it was going to reopen.
It's reopened only on Friday.
Well I met my friends here the Saturday night just like the title says a hen night without the bride to be well.
I walked down to it with an ex work colleague of mine and we started chatting before seeing my friends.
Some drinks I would have they did have so I opted for a white wine 🍷 with lemonade and the bar maid informed me that my friends was out in the cute little garden they had. Well my friends had thought it was expensive for the Rosa wine they had but I thought for the one I had was reasonable for the strength it was.
I was so pleased with that evening.
I decided to return to the pub the Sunday afternoon alone.
I had two glasses of this particular wine a a,few 🍟 fries that was cooked to perfection and that afternoon had turned to an evening there as well because you got talking to a few people and one actually had seen me before and couple that had just moved to the area from south East London. One of the staff came and joined us after she had finished her shift and showed us the menus and I think they will do well. As the prices a less
than most pubs around the area that a large majority of people that watch their spending can afford a meal here.
So i think next time I will probably have food here with family or friends.

Breakfast Club
Jul 2016 • Couples
Excellent. Super friendly and attentive staff. Delicious coffees complimentary with the breakfast and a very appetising breakfast indeed. Both had full English, good quality food well cooked and generous portions. Very relaxing and would certainly visit again.

Typical High Street Pub
May 2015
Average pub with food on the high street. Public parking nearby. Good for a casual drink with the natives of Edenbridge.
Live music on some weekends livens the place up considerably.
