About
The Walmer Castle is a traditional seaside pub, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Newly decorated during the lockdown to a very high standard. Our beautiful garden is available all year round with regular live jazz on Sundays! Why not come have a look and tell us what you think, good or bad. Look forward to seeing you.

We found this by chance when the beachfront was packed.
Lovely sized beer garden which was good as there was 13 of us....
We also liked the idea of being able to take our own food in too - this works well as there's a chippy /kebab /Chinese within yards
Beer was decent.
Good few hours was had by all

NB if the landlord does read this - he probably already knows - some of the garden furniture needs replacing and some new bits would definitely enhance the look and get a few more bodies thru the door
Hence the 4 😊

We main an impromptu visit to the Walmer Castle on a Saturday late afternoon. We could hear the music from the street and thought it sounded too good to pass by. And we were not disappointed! They have a jazz band every Saturday, when we visited they were really excellent. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. They have a new cocktail menu which we tried out. Love what they’re doing and not much to be improved really. Hope this place continues to be busy and get better and better.

Terrible service on the 29th August girl with green hair told us we was making too much noise upsetting other people even tho there was only 3 people there, spoke to a young man behind the bar who was lovely and confirmed we wasn't making any noise So the 8 of us left leaving less than 8 in the pub. We all enjoyed our time there until the green haired lady intervened.
We went to the port Arms and they made us feel so welcome.

I visited this pub because rumour had it they had cheap shots so thought it was worth a try. Everywhere was sticky. Music was dreadful. Way too much decor. Toilets were nasty. There was a couple who continuously ate eachothers faces off while we visited which was vile and very off putting. I was not impressed and I can assure you that I will never visit again nor will I recommend.

To be honest we had intended to visit the Taphouse on the opposite side of the street. However this was closed. I needed to use the 'facilities' and so we popped in here for a beer. It was about 6pm. Our friends, who are locals, were not so sure. However we piled in, the place was deserted so we settled down and looked at what was on offer. They had Lagunitas IPA so that was OK for me. My pal had a lager and the ladies spirits. Adam (the Owner/Manager) came over to introduce himself and ask about us. Looking at the place we were probably not their typical clientele. However the beer was good, we put a few tunes on the juke box Time for a second round of drinks before having to leave to get to the restaurant we had a table reserved at. As we left Adam shook all our hands and bid us farewell.
Only negative thing I can find to say it the lack of a lock on the toilet door in the gents and the fact the bottom half of the same door appears to be missing!
If you visit don't forget to admire the collection of bras hanging from the ceiling and ask Adam to explain why they are there. I tried to persuade Mrs B to donate hers but she declined!

She’s very inconsiderate, has no idea what she is doing... I don’t know how they have given the opportunity to a very narrow minded individual, poor choice, I would not recommend... to anyone...

This is a very busy and well established local pub for all the right reasons, The atmosphere is great, all the staff are very friendly, happy and helpful, its the only pub open till early in the morning 1am during the week and 3am fridays and saterdays.

If you want a good night out which is good for a small town like deal where places open similar times would be more than 25 minutes away and in a taxi thats about 45 pounds! Or bus... well buses dont run that late/early or a train.. well if you want to spend most of your night waiting for a train thats up to you??

This pub has alot of things to do like a free bbq every wednesday in the summer, quizes/kareoke, live bands/sets and dj's as well as socialising with the locals. This pub and the staff really do alot and go out there way to keep the customers happy including being open pretty much every day of the year!
