Beautiful old establishment set on the edge of the square in middle street. Decent menu , great ale and the service was very good. Limited opening hours , so plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

A lovely, traditional pub with friendly staff
Oct 2017 • Couples
We visited deal in October 2017, our first visit and what wonderful town. The whole town seems to be full of interesting architecture, wonderful and well kept houses, houses, a thriving high street, and all of this by the sea.

We visited the Prince Albert after trying a couple of other pubs in town. The pub is welcoming, cosy, traditional decorated (appearing very classy). We didn't eat although the restaurant looked lovely. We sat and drank, took in the atmosphere and chatted to a few locals. We hope to be back soon.

Small...but perfectly formed!

My favourite local. Traditional and comforting pub...part haven, part sanctuary from the worst aspects of modern life. Beautifully run by friendly owner with great 'drinks' knowledge. Good bar-snacks and excellent restaurant offering great value, home cooking. Pretty garden. I miss 'The Albert' very much when I am away from Deal.

Great Sunday Roast
Nov 2014 • Couples
Used to be known for its excellent Sunday roast beef. Now only features one roast but is very good. This with its excellent beer makes for a very pleasant Sunday lunchtime

From the outside this looked like a nice little pub, sadly it had an odd atmosphere and we both felt like we were intruding on both the local's and owners private party.

I will give it another go, in-case we read the vibe incorrectly. But with such fierce competition in walking distance it will need to improve.

The grown-up pub for us Deal people
As soon as you walk through the original old wooden doors of this pub, you feel the relaxed, mature ambiance surrounding you. Always a great selection of real ales and some lovely wines. This is definitely NOT the place for children. Situated at the North end of the busy town's high street, this is an oasis of calm. Colin and Mike run a very tight ship here, immaculately kept and full of nostalgia, not many tourists venture into its subtle, intimate bar and small restaurant area. So highly regarded, you will need to book weeks in advance to take advantage of their fabulous Sunday carvery lunch - all locally sources and freshly cooked. The atmosphere is like a gentleman's club - subtle and serene, understated friendly service. One of our all-time favourite places - but check the opening-times in advance!
