A 265 mile trip from Yorkshire to enjoy some of the best keeps beer in Britain. This little gem of a pub is simply divine. The range of ales, often local , are perfectly kept. Served by friendly staff to your table. The ambience is...More

I have visited many micro pubs in Kent and always find a warm, friendly and local feeling....but NOT here. As a group of respectable men in their mid thirties I was astonished to be met by a barman shouting "we don't sell lager in ere...More

Best place for a quick Stella and a chat on your mobile (Note: they dont sell lager and mobiles are banned!). In reality really nice beer at a fair price with nice staff and some pork based bar snacks to keep you alive.

Marvellous little pub with a good selection of real ales, ciders, gins and wine. No making or accepting mobile phone calls allowed, but dogs are definitely welcome (which is fine by me). The sort of place you go in by yourself and end up chatting...More

Visited recently with friends and family, one quite old. Was met with real warmth by the landlord and customers alike. Enjoyed great real ales and a few gin and tonics, rhubarb and ginger proving a favourite. Many micropubs serve great real ale, but tend to...More

Goes against the whole ethos of the micro pub where supposedly locals and strangers are equally welcome. One obnoxious regular who had he had been 18 would have been thrown out and banned but because he was 80+ we were expected to tolerate him and...More

Tiny pub serves great local beers and wine. It is popular (so it should not be marked down for that reviewers) and it actively discourages the use of mobile phones - plenty nailed to the wall so turn yours off! It is not expensive and...More

Favourable media publicity has meant that both our visits recently meant NO available seats and too many dogs...some of which occupied the interior seating! We're not anti-dog; however we feel that this micro pub is just that and now very busy and dogs under foot...More

If micro pubs are your fancy then you must visit this one. Great changing choice of cask beers served well, ciders too. Not expensive and very popular. Go in on your own and you will be chatting with someone very quickly - no locals only...More
