Brilliant beach. Always clean. Never overcrowded
Jul 2021
I guess the pebbles do put some people off, but as long as you've got decent beach shoes (the waterproof ones you can swim in are the ones you really need) it's fine. The beach is also very steep, which puts some people off too, but it's all part of the charm. It's great for families or friends, or on your own.

DELIGHTFUL
Jul 2021
Best view from the end of the pier with all the colourful houses behind it. Although a shingle beach, a nice place to relax

Quiet, not crowded
Jun 2021 • Family
It is not so crowded than other beaches. You can find benches to sit down or sitting next to the sea and you still have plenty of space around you.

Pebbles, groynes and sea -what's not to enjoy!
Jun 2021
Deal is a steeply shelving pebble beach, with groynes, originally to stabilise the beach. The sea - English Channel - is swimmable if you are brave, but also gets rough and quite noisy in a strong wind. It's never crowded - except very occasionally at weekends/bank holidays (more so during the corona virus). But if you are prepared to walk a short way along the front, you can find plenty of space. If you look carefully, you may see a seal or the waves washing over the Goodwin Sands

Busy road groups drinking.
May 2021 • Family
Pebble beach dirty. groups of adults drinking no toilets . On a busy road. Wouldn't go back. There are shops mostly charity and the pound shop few pubs.

Deal Beach is the 8th Wonder of the World
Apr 2021
The first thing I have to say about Deal Beach is that it never gets that crowded as it is vast - the swimming is safe as long as you use common sense and the beach is great for the little ones.
It is a pebble beach which is quite gentle during the summer months (In the winter its geography is spectacular) and the town is only minutes away.
Deal is a coastal town and not a kiss me quick seaside town and is very elegant in parts.
If you tire of the hot beach then you can explore the Old Town (on the Ramsgate side) which has a few nice pubs.
Nearly opposite the pier there is a amusement arcade which is great fun for children and if you fancy a walk on the pier (free) then you can see Deal Ramsgate and Walmer to their advantage on clear days.
If you are tired of busy beaches then do visit Deal

Walk
Apr 2021 • Family
Its a nice beach, its lovely to go on the beach whilst on a walk in the area. It was great to get out of the house, even though it was cold!

Too many dogs on the beach
Mar 2021 • Couples
Been coming to deal for nearly 30 years and luckily it hasn't changed much. Same arcade which is great!

The pier got a revamp which was sorely needed.

Main negative is all the dogs on the beach, signs clearly say 'NO DOGS' yet people willfully ignore it.

Ignorance could potentially ruin a lovely place.

Sunny Day beach
Feb 2021
An open pebbly beach with plenty of space, and a Pier to add some variety in the middle.
The beach was clean, and not so busy, mainly with people walking dogs.
the temperature hit 10 degs, sunny, and so bought out the crowds to enjoy the afternoon.

Nice
Nov 2020 • Family
Deal beach is lovely it is well looked after and got lovely fish and chip shops and a lovely pier to walk on which you can fish from, they have a cool fair every year with a carnival which is all by the sea. Only let down is, it is sometimes messy with rubbish and the water is to rough and deep to allow small children to play in
