Betteshanger provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity for everyone to see how 'old energy' can be transformed into 'new energy'. It connects people with energy and energy with people. Coupled with miles of traffic free cycling, muddy mountain bike trails, a sensational events programme, woodland, grassland, marshland and wide-ranging, hands-on activities including archery, fossil hunting and den building, Betteshanger is Kent's must-visit destination.

Great place to visit, cycle tracks are great, one tarmac with fast lane and then the off road tracks. We have never hired bikes (except our son had one provided at an organised party there so can't comment on those. Wearing of helmets doesn't seem to be enforced at all. Play park was being redone when there but bits we... More

Really great off road facilities for the beginner !! But could have more challenging trails for the more experienced.

A wonderful place for a family outing or just hang out with friends. There's circuits for cycling and and mountain biking. One can rent a variety of bicycles from the visitor centre. Parking is chargeable so do get your parking ticket. There's a great outdoor children's play park just near the Fowlmead cafe and the cafe itself is equipped with... More

I went with my 4 year old twins and their balance bikes last weekend (4 June). We have been before, they love doing the circuit on their bikes and it's perfect for young families. Unfortunately our last visit was spoiled by members of Thanet Cycle Club cycling behaving as if it is their own private practice track: cycling in packs;... More

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your recent visit to Betteshanger. We have a good relationship with the Clubs who use the track and we have raised this issue with them. You will find a response from the Club below. We hope to see you and your family at the Park again soon. Dear Travel_Monkey_33, my name... More

I ride at Betteshanger Country Park every weekend if I can. I am not a serious road cyclist and have a hybrid bike which allows me to ride off-road if I am in the mood. The track allows you to ride safely away from any traffic and the off road tracks give you the option to ride through the woods.... More

We initially went to check out the play areas which are recent constructions, but within half an hour decided to hire some bikes and hit the trails. We hired bikes for a couple of hours and the site has a huge Tarmac route that is interspersed with mountain bike trails and forest trails. You can use all those facilities with... More

Went the other evening to watch the cycling. Paid the parking once cycling had finished, I was given 4 minutes until my ticket expired. The machines are situated by the visitor centre so its quite a way back to the car, does not leave much time at all to get back, load the car and drive to the exit at... More

Thank you for your comments regarding our new parking system. You have approx. 15 minutes to get back to your car once you've paid for your parking, which should hopefully give you plenty of time to load up etc. It's a pay on exit system so you only pay for the amount of time you're in the park. We are... More

Lovely place within walking distance and can access from the bridelway. Do agree about the cyclists. There is nothing worse than a cyclist whizzing past your dog and when he barks at them through fright they are sometimes abusive. Use you bell when approaching people especially with dogs.

Lovely place to walk the dogs although I was a little disappointed, all around the park there are signs telling walkers to be aware of cyclists. Maybe cyclists should be aware of walkers, the amount of times I had to move for cyclists was annoying. The park is for everyone to enjoy. I understand walkers should not be on the... More

We first visited this park just after it opened and we were a bot disappointed. HOWEVER we have gone back after a few years and the panting etc has become established - what a difference the parking is well organised and there are several trails for cyclists of all levels - you can hire bikes (and even tandems). It is... More
