Very rude doctor. If you are carrying more weight then you should and your lifestyle is wrong in his eyes then don’t visit. His attitude was very demeaning and not helpful and especially if you are not a confident person. Offer very misleading as I was expecting a massage as well as the consultation but was told to rebook another day as well as having to pay for 3 x-rays at 25 pounds each and he was very adamant that I have these sooner as we would have to go through the process again, got very shirty when I said I will get back to them. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Dear "royalharbour" We are sorry to hear that you feel that way about your consultation with us and we are surprised to hear such feedback as our specialists and doctors have been awarded for their service and clinical excellence. It appears that your state of poor health required someone to be honest with you. It can be hard to hear, but if you look at your current state of health and you are not pleased with it, the only way to get better is to do what is necessary. Chronic pain, obesity and the long list of problems you presented with are a result of your lifestyle. You cannot begin to get well again if you continue with a poor diet, lack of exercise, poor posture and poor habits. Your GP has failed to help you for years and that was the reason you came to see us. Unless you are prepared to follow recommendations and get the tests you require, we will not be able to help you. We wish you well and encourage you to review your lifestyle to start making the changes necessary to return to the best of health.

Fantastic results

The professionals at Bodywell were able to get back to working condition, which was a massive relief considering how devastating losing your job right now would be. By the time I came in, I had already missed a week of work, and had been trying to get through to see my GP for a couple of weeks. Finally some one had a good look at what is going on with my back, and was able to make sense of it. All the staff were very professional, helpful and understanding.

I was a member at Bodywell for a number of months until leaving to seek alternative chiropractic care elsewhere.
I wish to leave this review to enable Bodywell to learn from client feedback, and to also give insight to future potential clients seeking honest reviews prior to embarking on treatment.

1. Like myself, I guess if you are seeking chiropractic care you value your health. Absolutely, there is no price to place on health, however saying that most of us don’t have a bottomless pit of money! Bodywell unfortunately, like others have commented, are very forceful
With their sales. I was left feeling very awkward and uncomfortable having to explain my financial situation to the receptionist, and that I simply couldn’t afford what was being suggested. The attitude to this was “ that’s ok, it just depends how much you value your health.” A very rude, insulting, hurtful comment.

Tip: if planing a visit to Bodywell be forceful and firm and don’t be coaxed into treatment if you simply can’t afford it ! And please don’t be unsurprised when their friendly attitude changes when you advise you won’t be taking up their suggestions.

2. Appointments are brief when visiting for adjustments, this is fine as many of us have busy lives, however I think one to one time with the chiropractor is lacking. This would allow time to discuss any concerns and review movement/function etc my current chiropractor is surprised to learn I have been adjusted in the same way for many months as of course our bodies are constantly changing , under different environmental stressors and adapting to adjustments. This lack of frequent assessment has halted my progress and I have been left with other areas of pain/ stiffness. Several areas treated in isolation, other areas now needs care. In fact my current chiropractor believes I have been over adjusted and perhaps “taken for a ride “.

Assessments are carried out 12 weekly perhaps using equipment like scales to check imbalance and having photographs taken to check posture. However, there is no hands on assessment of muscle strength and stability. My new chiropractor spent an hour purely doing hands on assessment which was so beneficial for my understanding
and his for identification of the problems. It felt more thorough.

Please be aware , the feedback you receive from assessments is briefed and skimmed over. I like to know how I am progressing and this was lacking. Maybe due to a lack of progression ?

3. Personal opinions of the chiropractor in regards to the health system, pharmaceutical industry etc are forcefully fed to you. Please note , staff are NOT wearing any PPE during the current pandemic. Clients are not asked to wear a face masks which is pretty much mandatory practice most places we go now. This is very concerning to me.

To conclude, my initial symptoms did improve at Bodywell however I feel their is a lack of personalised care. Had I attended my current chiropractor earlier than now, I would have been “fixed”. My chiropractor tells me I had spent an exceptionally long time in the care of Bodywell when it needn’t had taken so long. I do feel my treatment has been unnecessarily elongated which has come at a cost to me. I feel frustrated that I didn’t act on my hunches sooner. There is a sweet exterior from the onset and you are told what you want to hear , but unfortunately you are Just a membership and money to them. Don’t be taken in!

Dear "Seabreeze", Thank you for your feedback. Specialist treatment provided at BodyWell is affordable but never cheap. That is because we provided you with digital x-rays and nerve scans to identify and correct your problem. When a patient presents to our Centre, they are assessed with great care and following a detailed analysis, provided a tailored program of treatment, dedicated to resolving their problem. We provide corrective care, including testing to demonstrate that the problem has actually been fixed. When a competitor says you are fixed, we would welcome the opportunity to see the diagnostic testing to support that. More often than not, you feel better, but your problem is not actually "fixed". It appears you are better suited to another practice and we are happy that you have found someone more suitable for your needs. At BodyWell, we are proud to serve over 12,500 satisfied patients and continue to take care of hundreds of families every month to return to the best of health so they too can enjoy and a full and active life.

Wonderfully helpful massage!

Had an absolutely amazing massage from Jess. I've had the tightest shoulders ever since I've been working from home at my dining room table and she really worked her magic. Going again in 2 weeks time for round 2! Just make sure you get there early as the fairly small car park was rammed and caused me to run late for my appointment, but this was the only gripe I had.

Visited for two frozen shoulders (not at the same time) over the last few years and the treatment at Bodywell has been great. Good location, friendly staff and the membership scheme works well. Definitely recommended.

Good, the bad, and the ugly

First off I want to clearly state that this is a review of two halves:

1. I attended for deep tissue massage and was super impressed with the service, friendly staff, clean setting and price structure for my treatment.

2. Having been pleased. With my own positive experience I booked my Mum in for a free family health check. I absolutely regret this now.
Scan etc cost £145, and would have cost considerably more had she been easily pressured. There was distinct pressure placed on making an immediate decision and was even told 'if you don't want to end up in home being fed etc you'll need this treatment'.

The friendly manner dimishied when it was clear that she would not be making any immediate decisions.

It is only reasonable that someone considers their options before making decisions about their health care, and in my experience businesses that are good at what they do thrive on reputation without employing such tactics.

I am not one for writing negative reviews but wouldn't want someone vulnerable to be exposed to such tactics.

I fully accept that this will disputed by the practice, but on principal I have cancelled my own membership.

Hi Michelle, Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback. It is imperative to understand what you mother received. She had a free consultation, examination and testing including digital nerve scans for £285. That was for free. Based on her findings, she was recommended x-rays and 3D foot scans. This was because your mum was suffering with severe and chronic problems that required deeper diagnostic exploration. We can confirm that these tests were not only necessary but revealed the cause of the problems your mum has been experiencing for over 20 years and has, unfortunately, been mismanaged by her family GP. Therefore, I am sorry you feel hat your mum felt pressured. We simply want to make sure we provide the highest standard of care so that people like your mum, get the tests and treatment they need. Our doctors are upfront and straight to the point as they know that most people are frustrated and have experienced delays and poor service elsewhere. We are proud that over 12,500 members at BodyWell are very satisfied with our service and trust that we provide guidance and support that is in their best interests. Restless legs, insomnia and headaches all cured!

As a 48 year old woman and having a busy career, I never have time for sickness. Restless legs and insomnia had bothered me for months and I didn't know what to do. Frustrated, I've tried physio, osteopathy and even a chiropractor locally, but none of it helped. All it did was cost me lots of money! A friend at work told me about her Chiropractor in Blean at BodyWell. I went along, feeling dubious because nothing had seemed to help before. But this was different. They listened, did some nerve tests and a scan, then set out a very clear action plan, explaining everything along the way. It did cost more but the results were worth it. Restless legs haven't occurred since my 3rd visit and I now sleep deeply, waking refreshed!

What amazed me was I am always the one to get a cold or be knocked down by a virus. This year has been very different. Whilst my work colleagues have been struck down with the flu or even coronavirus, I haven't had a thing. Amazing!

My headaches, that I thought were just "one of those things", have also cleared. I've been going for approx 12 weeks and have to say that I've not felt this good in a long time. If you're not sure where to go, BodyWell is the place I'd go to first.

Thank you! I don't normally write reviews, but after my fantastic experience at BodyWell I couldn't not say anything!
I had a slipped disc in my spine and was in absolute agony, couldn't sleep, walk, drive, use my left arm. It was so painful I was certain I would need some sort of surgery but after a friend recommended BodyWell I went along for an assessment. Dr Christian and his team were very professional, very thorough and adhered to all the COVID policies. I had an X-Ray and a course of treatment was suggested over 4 weeks. My partner had to drive me the 45 minute journey as I couldn't drive and the staff even made her feel very welcome, she even had a massage as a gift for her time!
After being certain I would need surgery I cannot believe how far I have come! The pain is virtually gone, I still have treatments, but only as and when needed. I can go on my walks again, drive, and have a good nights sleep!
I cannot recommend this whole clinic enough!!

After my last 10 years of my working life suffering from back pain. I decided to try & get it sorted out ,I went to bodywell & have never looked back . I didn’t know my spine was so out of alignment,after having a full examination & x-rays etc. After my first year of adjustments & deep tissue massage , my spine & posture are much improved, I would recommend bodywell to anyone suffering from back pain or any other joint discomfort to try bodywell.
