About
For over 20 years this lovely model railway has been one of the key attractions here at the heart of the Fort Victoria Area, but has for a long time been suffering and looking tired, now with new ownership we look to rectify all of that and have taken onboard all your comments, concerns and constructive criticism. We are very much looking forward to re-opening the attraction and starring the next wonderful chapter in the life of the Fort Victoria Model Railway - a new chapter that I know will be a very good one and bring delight and joy to all those that visit. So watch this space and we will be delighted to announce the re-opening as soon as we can. In the meantime we wish everyone a safe and happy time.

This was a part of a package of tickets we bought to do things under cover on a wet day.We left it till last as not keen on railway stuff, but what a surprise it was great. It was a huge display, taking in many countrys ,it was fascinating looking at the displays and the fairground. When you go in you get a quiz sheet to spot things as you go round, it was good fun. The quiz is changed monthly. We thought it was a amazing show of little trains going round, it is run by real dedicated chaps. So worth seeing.

Just the thing for train fans and kids and those who love novelty. Built with passion this eclectic collection of running train models and scenery is fun. Kids are given a spot the sheet and even adults love this. Worth a visit.

My two young sons aged 9 and 6 love model railways. This is one of the best we have been to. In fact we have been a number of times. It is a large layout, with lots of detail. There are a number of trains, stations, landscapes, etc. A recent addition is a circus/fun fair, with a big wheel. It is very child friendly, with crates provided for children to stand on so they can see the full layout. The owners are happy for you to take photographs. It is also very good value for money - only £3 per person.

My husband and i visited fort Victoria model railway one afternoon they were due to close at 4.15pm and we got there at 3.00pm but as we walked through the door 2 miserable and rude staff members just said we are closed no apologizes or even a smile. We went there many years ago and wanted to go and see it again we will not be bothering again

Today I attempted to visit this attraction, arriving at about 4.03pm, with my wife and two children. I do admit that the cut off for admission is 4.00pm, however with an advertised closure time of 5.00pm and having been before I knew the 57 minutes remaining was ample time to see what we wanted, and we were prepared to pay the full price. Much to my surprise we were told it was too late and that the attraction closed at 4.30pm, it's advertised as 5.00pm, and rather condescendingly told to come back tomorrow. Well to that lady we won't be returning and never will, but what does it matter, the attraction obviously does not need the money when it can turn away four admission paying customers for the sake of three minutes!!!

We went on a whim on a rainy day as the adverts said you could have a day of fun. In the end we spent about 2 hours on all four of the "attractions". The aquarium consisted of about 20 tanks which were small and looked rather poorly kept - there was also a larger tank with a few rays and sharks in. The whole thing was dark and dingy - the sort of the thing I remember from the 70s. The planetarium has a very small exhibit about space and a short show that was informative but had my 15 and 6 year olds bored within 2 minutes. Rating of the show was by corks - most went in bad on our showing.
The archeology section was a little more interesting although only held attention for about 10 minutes. The model railway exhibit was very dated, hard for little ones to see and appeared not to be fully working - probably a great place for railway buffs but not us. This was a waste of £40 for 4 of us. The only real plus was the parking was free. We should have carried on to Alum Bay and got wet.

Overpriced for what it is I'm afraid to say.
It's purely a model railway set up in a large shed type building with a very small shop.
£3.50 seems steep for a 10 minute attraction.
Would not return again.

Well after travelling across the island and arriving at 4.24pm was annoyed to find nothing running, there literature states last admittance after 4.30 and close at 5pm. But to find it closed before these times was disgusting. When it was pointed out to the staff members I found their response rude and obnoxious, and comments like we have been hear all day and are you going to pay for the electric to turn things on again highly sarcastic. Also another couple who arrived with me with there children was also disappointed and disgusted. So for these reasons I would avoid this attraction as they don't abide by their advertised hours of business.

What kind of attraction by the sea refuses to let people in after 4 pm on a saturday in July? All of the attractions at Fort Victoria closed early. and do close early every day, including the cafe.
