Great to see the beach and the glass workshop. Would love to come back again and see a demonstration of the glass-blowing - this is on at set times during the day so check before/when you arrive. Cliffs on the beach interesting to see because of the colours in the chalk - just a little crowded when it's busy because it's not a wide beach area and some of the cliff sections cordoned off for safety.

Wasn't going to go in here but we had about 20 minutes before the bus was due but pleased, I did.
We first went into the glass shop part and was having a look around being carful of where my autistic son's errant hands may be when in the distance, I heard someone giving a demo.
After enquiring at the desk and given the fact that this is a rolling demo and you can join at any time, I thought that we would pop in for the couple of quid it cost.
It was a really interesting demo watching the glass blower create a vase and you certainly felt the warmth in the room.
The exit from the demo takes you back to the shop and a sleeping cat was bought with the thought that this should survive the 4 buses and a hovercraft to get back home, although they did pack it well.
On exiting the shop, we managed the extremely fast walk to the bus stop, as the bus was there and it was departure time.

I visited Alum Bay Glass with my sons aged 5 and 1 and my wife on our holiday to the Isle of Wight in February 2020. It is over the road from the Needles Visitor Park, and right by the needles/alum bay headland. It is clear that the inspiration for some, if not all of their studio glass comes from the sights and sounds and colours of the sea and local scenery. It is really interesting to go on the tour, where they show you the glassmaking process from start to end. They are only too pleased to let you ask any questions. There is a well stocked souvenir shop where you can buy a range of glass from animals which my sons loved (they had a glass pig each which was around£10 through paperweights which my wife and I had (large was around £15 and small £8) to vases and large pieces of studio glass. We thought they were reasonably priced for a piece of craftsman glass. We come from Halesowen which is near Stourbridge, the former glass capital of England and home of many art glass pieces, and they were interested when I was telling them about this. It’s a great place to visit and we really enjoyed it, would definitely visit again if back on the island.

Entered shop I said good morning, not even a nod may have well been invisible. Looked around still not acknowledged staff too busy chatting. Bad customer service. Would not recommend also car park wanting to charge £6.00 although I only wanted to visit the shop.

Revisiting with my sisters and Mum after 30 years, we were so happy to see it was still as wonderfully nostalgic as we’d remembered. Had a fantastic time visiting the beach via the chair lift, and making out our sand art. Our hearts were left full upon leaving (but only once we’d bought up half of the gift shop which was fantastic!)

We didn't get to see this as we arrived early. Everything closed even the toilets. Staff standing around and while people were queuing for a while my husband had to go and ask a member of staff if they could open the toilets. By almost 10am only some of the shops and experiences were open so we moved on to another part of the Island. Very disappointing.

Loved watching the glass blowing while visiting the Needles. The museum is small but free & the workers are happy to let you watch them work & answer questions. Gift Shop is lovely because you've just seen them make a similar item.

You can watch the glass being blown into the intricate vase shapes and there’s cabinets to show how glass blowing has developed over the century’s with some very old glass on display.
The shop sells all the different products you can see being made and if there’s something you want that’s not there in the colour or size you want they can make it for you.
Worth watching and very interesting.

Beautiful glass work, watched Gordon make a vase, it was beautiful. Was extremely satisfying to watch it turn into its final piece. Went into both levels of the gift shop and had to stop myself from getting carried away because everything was so unique, Rodger on the till was extremely friendly as was Gordon, would definitely recommend visiting this shop.
