Excellent views over the Solent. Well worth a walk though the park and along the sea front to Ryde. About one and a half miles to Ryde. Reasonable parking charges and a cafe. Great for a sunny day.

Being interested in various aspects of militry history, we found this site to be yet another great example of Victorian building excellence. It is another of the Palmerston Forts built in the mid/late 19th century to defend the Solent and Portsmouth Naval Dockyard from invasion...More

Wonderful area. Visit every time we visit the island. Both are kept beautifully clean. Do not miss. Lovely walk along the beach to Ryde. A cafe at either end of the long stretch of sand

This park is beautiful and enhanced by all the lovely dogs (and owners) you meet walking around the area. We were lucky to be there in reasonable weather - cold but sunny no raIn. Lovely views to be had as well.

It's tradition that we stop here for breakfast en route to the Seaview hotel from the ferry. Lovely food (it's licensed) and plenty of choice (breakfast/lunch/dinner/ice cream/cake). Nice park on sea front with beach huts and crazy golf. Free parking for scooters/motorcycles.
