Clean Sandy Beach
Sep 2021
This is a good beach, a big expanse of sand, there are no facilities as such and you do have to bring your own portable chairs if you don't want to sit on the sand.

Super beach.

A walk along the esplanade provides great scenery and safe strolling. The tower is quite unusual and the plague at the rear gives insight into the travels to the southern hemisphere.
Lovely beach with on sight amenities and plenty to potter around. Recommended for those long school holidays.

Big Kahuna - Aggressive Owner Awful Service
Jul 2021 • Couples
Nasty owner yelled as I asked to keep my slushies cold, as I waited 30 mins in hot sun for takeaway.

Had a lovely walk along the beach and found the big Kahuna. Had the best egg and bacon bap I have ever had in my life. Highly recommend a stop here, ticks all the boxes !

Happy walk on a sandy beach with a 2 year old and her mum. Thoroughly enjoyable

Absolutely beautiful sandy beach. Panoramic views across the Solent. Great walk down to Appley Tower and back round the opposite side. Kiddies play area close to the pathway and not far from the car park. Can't believe I've missed out on this in so many previous visits.

Although not one of the better known beaches, it does boast some nice sands.

We passed by Appley beach on our walk from Bembridge to Ryde on a Sunday early afternoon. The beach may be reached via a short walk from Ryde if using public transport and there are a number of (pay & display) car parks also in the vicinity. Although not one of the better known beaches on the Island, it does boast some nice sands which at low tide are very expansive and it does not get as crowded as those at Sandown, Shanklin & Ventnor.
The beach gives good views of Ryde Pier and the mainland just across the Solent and the regular hovercraft comings and goings will excite young children at least in the short term! There are a couple of cafes at either end of the beach and the Puckpool Park facility give access to play equipment, refreshments and public toilets.
The mysterious Appley Tower sits along the promenade and here also can be taken a nice walk in the shade of the trees.

Clean beach with a lovely park close by and cafe. You can access by cycle and it’s so peaceful, it’s free to go on the beach and paid parking close by.

Lovely Beach With A Nice Park
Sep 2020 • Couples
Lovely beach with a very nice park nearby perfect for a good day out for picnic and to just chill.

Great family ties nearby and cafe and side walk for pedestrians and cyclists as well as dog walkers.

Recommend for a visit.

Beautiful beach below a lovely small park. Clean sands and warm seas, just perfect. Been visiting here for 50+ years and it remains as wonderful as it ever was. Small Cafe and clean bathrooms!

Sand, cafe, sea is what's to like
Aug 2020 • Family
When mainland beaches are densely packed you can build your sand castles in many spots along this strip of coast. Appley has the benefit of a few facilities to make it useful especially if you've children.

I've been coming here for years and it's become a lot more noisy ... not from people, but from local airplanes which seem to patrol the airspace in an anti-social way. With luck you'll tune these out of mind or the authorities will realise the damage that one kind of tourism is doing to another kind of tourism.
