Great free show at the stream train experience convinced us to pay the very small fee to enter the falcon centre. Wow! It was worth it. Though small, the staff were so helpful and informative. We paid a tiny bit extra to try holding a bird of prey and to walk a ferret. Incredible fun and our host, Luke, made sure we enjoyed every second of the experience while educating us and answering every question we could think of. Please don't miss this off any visit to the Isle of Wight

The best family activity on the Island we have ever done. Booked the 1 hour bird of prey experience with my 5 and 9 year old plus 2 adults for £60.
You can fly a hawk for £5, walk the ferrets £3 or be a falconer for a day, there are several packages or just visit the centre for a small fee. Whatever your budget can allow the experience is great value for money.
We had an amazing day with our Falconry Keeley, it was clear she loves the animals she cares for. All the team there were so friendly and knowledgeable they stopped to chat and give you information. We heard the centre has a wish list for the animals. My children choose a new bell for the parakeets. The new toy was taken straight to their enclosure and it was a delight to see and hear them playing with it straight away. We arrived an hour before the experience to look around the centre and were delighted to meet several birds, including an owl.that had escaped during the morning show. It was great to hear all the stories from the team and learn so much information about the beautiful birds they care for so much.

The falconry centre is accessed from the steam railway but you can enter without paying for the steam trains.
We booked a Bird of Prey experience well in advance and what a great decision that was. We got to fly a Kestrel a Barn Owl and a Harris Hawk with the excellent Luke as our handler. He was brilliant very knowledgeable and you could feel his enthusiasm with every word. We got a whole hour with just the three of us and the birds. This was truly a brilliant experience in fact it was the best thing we did in the whole week. We had a nice long chat with the lady owner who was also very friendly. This is a definite must do and I can’t recommend it highly enough as one of the places that deserves visitors to keep it open especially after the COVID shutdowns. There is plenty to see with a flying display twice a day and reptiles and mammals as well as more birds. There are plenty of special experiences you can do with even ferret walks at just £3. I would definitely do this again in a heartbeat.

We did the bird of prey experience today with Josh (we think his name was) and it was a fantastic experience. Josh was super knowledgeable about the 4 birds we were introduced to - Indie the Kestrel, Bindi the Owl, Tichiba the Hawk and Ringo the Hooded Vulture. His enthusiasm was inspiring, especially in regards to dispelling some of the negative stereotypes around vultures and how important they are to our natural ecosystems.

Before the experience started we had the opportunity to have a look at the other birds, reptiles and ferrets at the centre.

We got to get up close and personal with these fantastic birds including flying demonstrations with 2 of the birds plus the Vulture who was a real character.

Would highly recommend the experience and we also stuck around for the owl display for the public which was great as well. All of the staff at the centre were so friendly and passionate about their work - cannot recommend highly enough.

An absolute gem of a place! We paid for the Birds of Prey experience and I can only say that Luke and Natalie are experts in this field. We thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with the birds who are very well looked after. Although small, this place is very well laid out for visitors and is quiet and intimate. The staff are extremely polite and knowledgeable and the day was well worth the money. We shall return!

We went for the bird of prey experience this morning with Cole, the young falconer, who has vast knowledge of the birds and great passion for her job. We were able to have several birds land on our gloved arms,it was a lovely experience, and I would recommend this activity even for non bird lovers,as you may become one after.
We also went to watch the show on the woodland stage,a young lad, think his name is Max,also very informative and enjoyable. He was great too.
Brilliant thing to enjoy-special thanks to Cole for making it special.
This is a lovely little birds of prey centre, the staff are great and very passionate about what they do ,and well worth a visit.

I came here and was quite skeptical as I am not keen on caged animals. I expressed this to the staff and the gentleman in the picture was very nice and explain their side which made sense. Overall it is a good experience and great for kids. You can hod the birds for £3 or fly them for £5 which is a great price, also the money gets out back. I would recommend a visit here, peaceful and relaxing place and educational I must say. I think £7.50 per adult is a good and fair price

We booked the day long falconry experience & had a wonderful time - from the beginning, feeding barn owl chicks, to the end, meeting the newly arrived great grey owl in the owl encounter & flying the African vulture Ringo. Josh was most informative & Cole was very helpful - it was inspiring to see a falconer in training. My favourite part was the hawk walk, flying the Harris hawks in the nearby woods - though it’s hard to pick a best bit out of a truly memorable day.

This site isn’t free to enter. £5 per person or £2.50 if you purchase tickets for the steam railway- not at all clear. Friendly enthusiastic staff and some interesting birds of prey but takes no more than 15 minutes to go round

Visited with my granddaughter for her birthday, it was a wonderful experience made even better by the brilliant knowledge, care and friendliness of Coal she was excellent and a true asset to the centre. My granddaughter Tallulah could not contain her excitement in telling her mother all about flying the hawks and handling the snakes and tarantula. She is now desperate to go again. Thank you very much Coal.
