This venue has now closed and is being knocked down. It had roof problems which probably hastened it's demise. It's a shame because the ice rink was very popular.

We were so pleased to read that the ice rink is back in action. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and hired skates and got going. The rink has had many problems over the last few years, but with a team of committed volunteers and management they are really trying to get this attraction back on its feet. There is no restaurant at the moment but hot and cold drinks and some snacks are available. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. We know there are problems with the coolers, but the small patch of slushy ice coned off did not detract from the fun experience. we are determined to support this place so we don't lose it from Ryde.

Enjoyed a great day here.. Arrived late morning by Hovercraft (literally arrives adjacent to the rink) and stayed til mid afternoon.. They were open at 10am allowing you pretty much until 4pm to skate (with a half hour break around 12:30 - 1 to redo the ice (I think that's the term).. The staff were excellent.. Helpful and friendly.. Music a little quiet and 'safe' and could do with being a little louder... There is a little café inside the Arena with limited tables (so advise not heading in there as soon as do the ice thingy because it filled up then quickly..) Generally a good value for money venue..

Planet Ice is terrific value. Our kids loved it. Turn up, pay, pop on the skates and have fun on the ice. We went in the middle of the school summer holidays and it still wasn't crowded. Tip: remeber that this is an ICE rink and that it's cold inside...wrap up warm, even on a hot day.
