Oh my goodness!!

It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen... liquid fireworks set to some gorgeous music. Yes, it did smell a little musty - one of the drawbacks of a wholly liquid extravaganza, but it was a wonderful experience at an amazing price. So sad it has closed!

This was something good to see. It was in a small theatre. Nice little shop on entry. I have not seen something like this before, has potential.

Last chance to see...

I raved about Waltzing waters last time I reviewed it (around about a year back). It had retro charm, it has an air of forlorn 'old fashioned' about it, no lasers, no HD, no wifi or VR nothing fancy but still it was good.

Sadly things have started to change. I presume with news of it's impending closure, the staff have lost heart and the owners have lost interest. There were un-swept autumn leaves on the steps... From last Autumn. There was litter in outside and un-repaired signs. Inside, has empty shelves and fly-blown display cases, a long-since closed for the season cafe hogs the foyer and the staff have either a terminal (and understandable) lack of interest or a love of being very loud and rather abrasive.

The actual show ? Out of sync, parts of the fountain display were not working properly and the music... Well honestly, it was shocking. Being told exactly where to sit.. In an 90% empty auditorium seemed a little bit odd, certainly more so as each person was told "the best views is from there"... and the poor guy on the mobility scooter got dragged in by the handlebars at a sprint five minutes into the show !

Why is waltzing waters facing closure on the IOW ? Licensing issues ? or is it simply this. Neglect.

You know what ? It's a genuine tragedy, because it's more or less unique, it is charming and people would still pay to see it... was so good, and has so much potential, but neglect, I don't know if 'up to date' is the right term, but failing to move with the times... and (I can only assume) mismanagement are killing the place.

Visit while you still can, if for nothing other than morbid curiosity.

Not at all what I was expecting.

I'm in the IOW retracing and reliving the magic of past childhood holidays.

I've never been here before and thought I'd give it a go. The auditorium was very oldie world as was the core appeal of the show.

There were 4 other people in the theatre so it wasn't busy. We were seated at the back by the entrance, unfortunately there's a really bright exit light here - made it quite difficult to watch the show.

I enjoyed the show and 'hammy' commentary - can imagine being taken there years ago by my grandparents; they'd have loved it!

As others have said, it's closing down. This is a real shame. But... I do understand it would have a limited appeal.

I'm pleased I had the opportunity to visit.

They do a charity collection at the end to send water to Africa.

You do get to peer over the edge of the stage and look at the workings whilst exiting which was interesting. Would have been nice to have a quick talk on the tech involved.

There were no Americans in the audience so nobody clapped the fountains or the computer controlling them, however lots of smiles - so clearly enjoyed by all.

I have never seen this kind of attraction before, really good, such a pity their lease is up and they are having to move to the mainland, a lose for the Isle of Wight.

Disappointing
Jul 2017 • Family
After seeing some fab advertising thought we would try this as was such a rainy weekend for my daughter and granddaughters visit
Lengthy bus journey from Ryde and what seemed delightful at first... For a whole ten mins max... Soon bored.
Very basic coloured water display which would be fab to see in say a restaurant setting as set to music but soon palls if you are seated cinema like in rows simply staring at it for 30 mins!
Little one liked it but again was too repetitive after a while and you kind of wish it would end lol
Disappointed

I have been going to waltzing waters for over 10 years possibly 11 but I have never taken the time for waltzing.

1. Waltzing waters Isle of Wight is 1 out of many of its kind. So anyone who is upset that it's closing don't worry because the chance that you will see another one is quite likely.

2. I have been going to waltzing waters IOW for over 10 years so I know the company very well I go at leat 8 times a year and I also know the owner Alex Donald. Recently i have been on the phone to him and he says they will DEFINITELY be opening on the mainland in Easter 2018.

3. Some people have commented that the gift shop is very empty however it never used to be like this but because they have known that there lease is due to exspire soon, they have not bothered to restock.

4. The show is one of the best and is well worth visiting but hurry up as the last show will be on the 30th.

Overall:

Please do visit waltzing waters before the 30th as you will love the show but please don't be put off by the almost empty gift shop.
If you don't get the chance to see it here they will be opening in Easter. Possibly somewhere in Brighton, Eastbourne, Worthing or hove but I cannot promise this.
