Have used this Ale House many times over the last couple of years and is always a good place to visit. The Beer is always first class and is a reasonable price for real Ale. Some nights live music is provided and is always suitable for the venue.

We just popped into the Alehouse in passing. It was very friendly and when we talked to some customers they told us there would be musicians coming back later to play Irish Music. The Mermaid gin was delicious and the beers were good or so I'm told! We indeed returned for the music later on after eating out. There were... More

Just popped in because I heard a blues band playing. They were excellent and so was the pub: Even though I was travelling solo I received a warm welcome and loved watching the band getting its mojo workin'. Thanks

Very small alehouse with a variety of real ales and ciders racked up behind the bar. No food served but pies available. Clearly a popular venue with only a few tables - due to the narrowness of the place there is not much space for seating. Very well kept beer but can get very full and as the bar is... More

Went two nights in succession and somehow managed to get a table both times. Small, atmospheric traditional pub with very well kept beers and live music on Friday. Selection of pies served to stave off hunger. Just a great venue for grown up drinking.

This is a tiny bar which serves ale straight from the cask. There were 3 ales on each night and we tasted them all ...all brilliant. On Friday night there is music ...we saw a great little 2 piece band . Go ...it's great !

There aren't many places to sit in this narrow bar and I probably wouldn't stay here all evening but it's worth seeking out for their selection of well kept beers . Staff are friendly and it seems a little less tourist orientated compared to some of the other pubs in Cowes

Second time I've visited this bar.. 3-4 ales straight from the barrel, simple bar snacks like scotch eggs, pork pies and toasted sandwiches and a warm friendly atmosphere meant that although we just popped in for a swift pint we ended up stopping for 2 hours.. And the live music just topped it off.. Great evening..., so good we made... More

This little bar serves a great range of beers - very carefully looked after. It is like stepping back in time but with excellent modern service. Recommended for beer lovers but also for those who want a proper pub. Brilliant live music adds to the atmosphere. Enjoy!
