Gadebridge gardens are beautiful and quite surprising as generally Hemel is a bit of a run-down dump! The Gardens are at the back of the Old town next to St Mary’s Church and there are paths through the grounds of the church to access the gardens and also a path from Leighton Buzzard Road. This is the site of an early Bury house from mid 1500. The walled gardens, also known as the Charter Gardens after the arched stone porchway you can walk through, are particularly beautiful and well tended. There is a coat of arms on the upper level of the Charter tower from the Combes family. The porchway used to be the entrance to another Bury house.

I was impressed by the lovely gardens.

Huge park. Lots of variety in terms of the park, furniture, activities etc. Nicely laid out, well maintained. Only blip is the public lavatories near the small child play area which probably reflected some level of social problems. Poorly maintained, no toilet paper and an interesting hand-wash facility. But at least it was open and usable for which I was grateful.

Splash park (not open now) and plenty of play area. Fenced off sand pit area for smaller kids. Plenty of space to run about. A nice place to let your children run loose. There's a small shop that serves food and ice cream.

Great play area for kids up to 10/11. Nice river walk and plenty of open space. Super skate park for older kids.
Toilets were poor but parking was free. Nice free couple of hours entertainment for kids.

I can see the entrance to the park from my window it’s that close, great in the spring
and summer to just go for a walk around , great to take my nephew to play in the
park and water splash park , can take a blanket and picnic and spend the day down there . It is a pretty big space so can also take activities there

We went to this park on Good Friday, we met my brother and his family here for a picnic. Lots of trees, if you prefer a shaded spot. This is so much more than a typical play area, there's masses of play equipment plus a huge sandpit area with scooping equipment that kept our son happy for hours! There is also a great splash zone which the kids absolutely love so remember to pack a towel and swimming gear. They will get wet when the water jets shoot out and soak them!! The area is vast so there's plenty of space to play Frisbee, football etc or just a nice leisurely walk. There is a river that runs along side the park which our son and his cousins had a paddle and we all took our shoes off and also paddled in the river and spotted some crayfish and tiddlers. You can take a picnic rug and sit amongst the trees or use one of the many picnic benches dotted about the park. Then spoil yourself with an ice cream from the resident ice cream van. The only downside for me was the toilets, they need updating, and are out of place compared to the rest of the well kept park.

A reasonably sized edge of town park, with plenty of grass areas for play and picnics. There is a wide concrete path -my son learned to ride his bike there! Dogs and families mix well together here. A new playground area has been built recently which is a good addition.
