Visited after seeing this on the net as a popular place to visit. Well worth it. COVID meant the toilets were closed which can be an issue, wife now owns a shewee :) Horses and donkeys wandering around. Whilst we went when it was dry, it was a bit boggy at the far end if you wish to walk fully around the pond so wear suitable footwear. well worth the visit

A beautiful pond and just right for our dog to paddle about. It is deep enough for them to swim as well. The ice cream van was an added bonus. Even though it’s next to the main road it’s still calm and relaxing.

It's a lovely walk around Hatchet Pond, although it can get busy in peak season. It's a shame that the toilets are closed, as you have to drive into Beaulieu to find toilets. Some people need to control their dogs, there was a large dog chasing a young donkey, which was distressed, it was dangerously close to cars, when they eventually caught the dog, they were laughing, it was not funny. People also seem to think it's OK to feed the donkeys, despite numerous signs telling you not to.
