The obvious places such as Burley, Beaulieu will have a fee for car parks, but travel slightly out and you'll be reward with free parking. Favourite spot is Linford Bottom for a BBQ and paddle. Only let down by some irresponsible dog owners not picking up their mess. Top all year round.

The New Forest was a hunting ground of King William. It is the newest National Park in the country. With plenty of free off road parking, with;from gentle to strenuous walks a plenty; and a friendly pub close by, a lot dog friendly. A real Jewel in the very south of Hampshire.

We have come from Canada every year for the last decade to walk in rural England. Admittedly, we might be jaded because we have walked in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, NY Moors, Borders, Cornwall, Wight, etc. but we could not understand all the positives about New Forest. We were staying in Bournemouth and decided to visit New Forest by train... More

Wanted to know about guided walks in the New Forest and a member of staff gave us leaflets, magazines, names of guides, costs of walks, and could not have been more helpful.

Travelled back to London via the New Forest and had a great trip. Beautiful area with pretty, historic villages , parks and ponds with lots of wild ponies grazing by the road to our delight . A lovely day topped off by seeing swans and cygnets at one of the many small parks scattered throughout the forest. Recommended for a... More

Easily accessible from many parts of the country the forest offers water sports, family activities and interesting places to visit but it's finest offering is the vast open and wooded space that lends itself to walking for all. The legendary ponies and other animals roaming the land add a quirky interest to any walk. The scattering of chocolate box villages... More

Visited the new forest a couple of times now and is brilliant for picnics and dog walking, wildlife is everywhere, there are rope swings all over the place and hidden trails, the place is massive and is a good day out, south of the new forest is Milton on sea which has a all year round dog friendly beach which... I have always dreamt of seeing wild horses/ponies run free. Visiting the New Forest has made this come true. One tick off my bucket list. It is so peaceful and tranquil driving through the forest on narrow lanes at low speed enabling you to observe the beautiful greenery, ponds, streams and open lands where cattle, horses, ponies, donkeys and deers...
