    Fantastic helpful staff
Took my disabled daughter to the Lowry which we visit regularly. My daughter got a bit upset so the staff member spoke to the lady in charge and we were relocated to another part of the theatre. Staff are always helpful and we love attending this theatre.

    Fine modern gallery and theatre
Visited The Lowry gallery and theatre and we enjoyed both. The theatre is modern and perfect in size for the performance by opera north which we enjoyed. It’s not too big so the show can feel fairly intimate, we were in the stalls, there are 2 balconies too. Seats were comfy, though the arm rests were at an odd height. No need to worry about getting served at the interval either, plenty of staff at the bar, and a reasonable range of beverages and snacks. There is a good amount of seating in the public areas and it doesn’t feel cramped, the rest rooms were not crowded and well maintained. The cloakroom is on the bottom level, there is a £2 charge to look after luggage or coats. The gallery was very good, there is a 20 minute film about LS Lowry which is well worth watching if you are after additional context. There is a fine range of Lowry’s works well curated and presented and a good gift shop too. Definitely a venue we will return too.

Great seats with plenty of legroom
We've been many times to the Lowry for opera, musicals, bands. Visited again in March for opera. Once again great seats with plenty of legroom (much better than older theatres), I don't think I've had a bad seat at the Lowry. The bar is fine for pre show and interval drinks. The venue is well served by public transport but we normally drive. Parking in the car park under the shops is ideal, but queues to pay for parking can be long after the show. HINT. Pre-pay parking on the way in, not only does this save queuing after the show but it's cheaper too.

    Inspiring and welcoming
A lovely little museum and theatre, surrounded by bars and restaurants, with a view over the quays. The Lowry exhibition is really interesting, with lots of artwork obviously, but also a video and information about Lowry's life and inspirations. The theatre isn't huge but it's immaculate and welcoming.

Opera North in Aleko and Cavalleria Rusticana
Theatre access is good for a wheelchair. Lifts fast. However the stalls chair seat location is poor acoustically and for viewing position. So I book the back row of the circle and end of row G and park my chair and shuffle a few steps. There is a rarely occupied row of boxes, with level access behind that row. Reserved for Quay Club members and sponsors, and empty. Use those! Opera North had an interesting spin on both these one act operas. Connecting characters. Cav is by a long way the more mature opera. Aleko was written by a 19 year old. Both combine sublime music. Cav has the Easter Hymn and the Intermezzo. Aleko the Cavatina. Both about love, betrayal and death. The band was on top form. Amazing playing.

    Great Venue
First visit here and what a lovely place, really friendly helpful staff, with comfortable seating, we were on the upper circle and it was quite high up but brilliant view and sound. Lots of toilets which were clean and fresh, we didnt use the bar so cant comment, nor did we use the shop, parking was over the way and cost us £7 but we arrived at 5pm and lft before 10pm cheaper than manchester city centre prices. Great experience all round will deffinitely return

    Lowry, Media city, Salford keys.
Great paintings, well displayed. Fantastic to be able to walk in and view these pictures which are important for the region and for evocation of 20th century Uk industrial heritage. In my view the exhibition is about the right size. Any bigger and it’s hard to keep concentration. A good range of Lowry paintings.the building itself is a model art gem, set amongst the modern Salford keys development. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole setting. I recommend to anyone with an interest in art, architecture, industrial history. There is a great coffee place in the museum too which I didn’t visit on this occasion but it looks great.

    Pier 8 & 42 Balloons show
We went to see the new show ‘42 Balloons’ with a pre-show dinner in Pier 8 at the Lowry, Salford Quays with a great meal served by Rob & drinks served by Niamh, thank you. We were then treated to the fabulous ‘42 Balloons’ show with high energy, talent, brilliant music and songs, it finished with a standing ovation from the delighted audience. A brilliant evening, thank you to the Lowry & everyone involved in 42 Balloons 🎈

    My favourite north west venue
Always love a visit to the Lowry and have seen many varied shows and exhibitions there. Love the comfort and views in the Lyric theatre, my preferred seats being in the circle. The last couple of visits have been to the Quays theatre around the back and I really love this space - it's intimate but still big enough for a great atmosphere. I particularly like the Stalls Tier seating booths of 6. We came on 27 April for 42 Balloons and wow, what a show. Absolutely blew us away. Aren't we lucky to have such high-quality West End worthy shows up here in Salford. I'm still singing the songs days later. We had a swing and a cover due to a cast injury and they were both excellent so kudos to them, it must very hard stepping in at short notice. The venue was clean and warm, toilets were spotless, and a special mention to the (more mature) staff directing visitors around the venue, they seemed so proud to work there and asked us at the interval and the end if we enjoyed the show. The bar is standard theatre prices as you'd expect but the Sauvignon blanc is actually really nice, I always treat myself to one. I know there is a lot of complaints about the car park but I know now to pay at the machine just inside the Quayside mall. £7 for 5hrs parking is pretty reasonable I think. We have been caught in a very long queue to exit once but every other time, it's been fine. Can't wait for my next visit!

    Amazing experience
I recently visited The Lowry Theatre and had an amazing experience. The venue itself is stunning, with excellent facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and made the visit even more enjoyable. Special shoutout to Yanice and Nicola, who provided exceptional service during the night, and Katarina, who made our mornings delightful with her friendly and attentive approach. The performances were top-notch, and the overall ambiance was perfect for a night out. Highly recommend The Lowry Theatre for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic cultural experience.

I’ve been to The Lowry countless times: this most recent visit was for 42 Balloons in the Quays Theatre.

Bigger productions take place in the stunning Lyric Theatre, where you’re guaranteed a good view in more or less any seat. The Studio is for new/experimental/up-and-coming pieces.

Discounts are offered for Salford residents (the ‘Our Lowry’ scheme) and Under 30s, so I’m often there with £10 tickets. It’s always worth checking out their ‘What’s On’ page to keep track of upcoming productions.

There’s also a gallery showcasing L.S Lowry’s work.

I bring my daughter who is in a wheelchair and we always have a fantastic time. The staff are brilliant and always very helpful. The parking at the outlet was great until recently when it was changed. If you want free parking for 4 hours then you now need to go into the shopping centre. Get to the lift which is halfway round the first floor, then take the lift to the second floor to validate your registration number with customer services. This is not an easy task with a wheelchair.
I asked the woman in customer services what would happen when the outlet was shut if we wanted to use parking at night. She didn't know and I have messaged the parking company several times but never get a response. Unfortunately if it cannot be resolved then it will be the end of us attending the Lowry.

A great venue with a magical music twist in August....

The Good 👑
We visited the SIX Queens exhibition which was mostly brilliant. A great celebration of the musical and female empowerment.

The Not So Bad 👗
There was lots to see in the exhibition and our kids loved it as we are big SIX fans. The broader LBTQ aspects felt really bolt on to am exhibition that mostly celebrated female empowerment and achievement. Was this perhaps to tick a box?

The Ugly 👜
Nothing negative to report! Perhaps consider a broader range of pocket money priced toys to support those children and families with lower income.

Had to comment on our visit today. We arrived at the same time as many people including children for an afternoon show. There was a short queue at the double double doors on the right doors. I am disabled with a walking stick so I went to the left double door where there is a button clearly labelled with a disability logo and saying press to open.
Entering, we were accosted by a jobsworth who insisted that we had entered through an exit and insisted that we go back out and join the queue. We reluctantly did and I went to tell him about the disability button. He used the trick of bumping me and then accused me of touching him. I showed him the button but he just kept accusing me of touching him.
Very disappointed. Please investigate

The Lowry is a well run venue with friendly helpful staff.
The aufitorium itself is well designed providing great views from almost every seat. There are plenty of bars and refreshment hiosks.
But the stand-out for me is the Pier 8 restaurant.
It serves great food at reasonable prices, and, of course, the timimg suits whatever show is one that night.
On our most resent vsit we have some delicious roast lamb - perfectly cooked. The goat's cheese mousse starter was also amazing.
Well worth booking the restaurant when you book you tickets

We visited to watch Zog (6 adults, 3 toddlers and 3 babies). Staff were helpful on arrival to the performance but that is where the positives end.
If you are planning to visit the Zog exhibition with very young children/babies please be prepared to leave your pram before you are allowed in.
Two of the three babies were awake so we were ready to leave our prams and carry a 7 month and an 8 month old round with us- not ideal but fine. Our 4 month old was fast asleep in the pram. We were told by Dinah that our pram had to be left and the baby taken out. He was FAST asleep. She explained that it was too busy (it wasn’t) to fit a pram upstairs and that only babies 2 months and under would be allowed in a pram. It was a very ‘computer says no attitude’.
Another of our party went to collect her pram from the buggy park. She was spoken to very rudely by another member of staff who waved her finger in her face and said ‘No, no, no’ as she tried to collect her pram.
These two members of staff put a completely negative spin on what should have been a lovely day out.
I looked for an email address to email the Lowry to inform them of their rude staff members but couldn’t find one.
I think a little bit of kindness goes a long way and the two ladies could do with a smidge more.

Overall, The Elmer Adventure show lasted for around an hour, which was perfect for our little three year old to sit through. Both her and her nine year old brother loved every second, both failing to get restless, which was just what we wanted. It truly was the most perfect way to spend a morning!

On Friday 19th November 2022, we booked tickets for a play at the theatre (Othello, it was amazing) so we decided to go a few hours earlier and have a look at the shops, Christmas market and have a meal at Cafe Rouge (nice). The shopping centre is a real disappointment, there are so many shops empty and takes very little time to visit. It was then understandable why there was no one around! We tried to fill our time waiting for our meal the best we could and then enjoyed the meal and loved the play.

However we were disgusted to find when we went back to our car to pay for parking we had been just over 6 hours which was £16! We just found that ridiculous, but then found it understandable why the whole place was empty of shoppers! If we use the theatre again we will definitely NOT be using any of the other facilities!

We visited the Quays theatre 18/11/22 to watch Othello which was amazing as we had luckily seen it before . BUT we are totally disgusted with the seating at the Lowry . We paid £19 plus booking fee for seats we could see a thing ! If we sat on the so called high seats we could see less than half the stage . If we sat on the high seat we could not see a thing !!
These should not be sold as viable seats to see a theatre production. We were Tier 2 Row B seats 48/49 . We have been to the Empire recently , got restricted viewing as these were the only seats left . Paid £10 and could see most of the stage .
Do not book the Tier 2 at the Lowry Quays theatre. I have complained to them and awaiting a response . At no point did it say when I booked the seats that I’d have to stand to see any BIT of the stage . These seats should not be sold at all !! As far as I’m concerned it’s a total money maker for something not for for purpose.

My main aim was to visit the Lowry collection and this exhibition surpassed expectations. The introductory video is excellent and complements the exhibition, I really would recommend watching it as it brings the pictures to life. There is a lovely mix of Lowry’s work and despite being keen to see the ‘matchstick men’ it was other works which I was most taken by. Whilst it is a 5 star exhibition, it was marred by the behaviour of a few children in the area waiting for the Gruffalo exhibition adjacent to it. Parents were allowing their children to run and shout in the corridor not realising the impact on others’ experiences. I only noted excellent behaviour by those children in the Lowry hall looking at the pictures.
After the Lowry, we did go into the Julia Donaldson / Axel Schaffer exhibition, it is designed for children but I enjoyed looking at the notebooks, sketches and learning about the writer / illustrator experience. There were lots of interactive experiences for children
