A beautiful and amazing place in Manchester - really modern and unique - worth a visit - a bit windy sometimes - but generally very nice for a stroll with family.

We enjoyed strolling around the Quays. The Lowry is at the heart of it, plus there is a mediocre looking outlet shop and plenty of bars. Whilst we were there, there was a waterpolo tournament going on which was good fun.

Shops were varied. Nice view from bridges. Saw corrie tour entrance, had a mini rovers return for photos. Bars and areas to sit in. Blue Peter garden. Something round every corner.

Took a group of GCSE students to the Quays for a study of urban regeneration. Really good place for fieldwork, the students really liked the choice of location (coming from Leicester), and it was easy to navigate around with much of the area pedestrianised. The...More

On route to Old Trafford on a sunny Sunday had a trip round the Quays which is still developing as an attraction. The Lowry and Imperial War Museum form a core with the bridge interconnecting Salford and Trafford sides of the Ship Canal. The Lowry...More

You can park overnight at the Lowry Outlet, 12-24 hours is £16 and you can buy more time after that. Not sure if staying in local hotel gets discounted parking.
