Visiting the area for an art exhibition, spent a morning in Manchester's Media City UK in the modern redevelopment of the Salford Quays.
Lots of TV studios, moved up from London.
Lots of coffee shops.
Nice spot to sit and watch the world go by.
Nice walking area past the canal.

We went here to watch a pre-recording of part of Sport Relief. Tickets are free if you are registered although the over-subscribe so you need to be early and queue.
Queuing is indoors and there are toilets and a cafe available.
Very polite and well organised staff. Plenty of parking nearby.

We stay at least once a year for a couple of days as the whole area is reasonable quiet but with a bit of a buzz.
The area is kept clean and safe and there is nothing better than sitting on the piazza with a coffee star spotting or visiting the Imperial War Museum or even visiting one of the many superb bars or restaurants .
Great experience and who ever thought of regeneration of this area deserves an absolute dustbin life sized medal

*Visited April 2021* MediaCityUK is a massive development along the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford Quays. Although the properties within the complex are mixed a lot of the area is dominated by BBC and ITV studios and offices. There are a number of bars and restaurants in the area which in normal times would be buzzing but when I visited it wasn’t business as usual due to heavy Covid-19 restrictions and it was a lot quieter than usual. The skyline of MediaCity is impressive and I had a good photo opportunities on my latest visit. It is a well worth a visit and is well connected by Metrolink trams services to the surrounding area as well as Manchester City Centre.

We visited to view UTC@MediaCity which a relative attends. Good public transport links but we parked at the Lowry Outlet for shopping (it looks easy to get it wrong in the Media City Car Park, which is expensive and tricky to access).

On a bright, cold day it was fun to stride across the bridge and take photos. We visited the Blue Peter Garden and took a coffee at Penelope's Diner before heading to The Lowry Centre for an exhibition, followed by shopping at the Outlet.

Cool vibe at the Salford docks. TV studios combined with shopping and dining. We had a Lovely wander around with the family. Our highlights were the Blue Peter garden and the statues of Pudsey and Upsy Daisy.

My mum and myself have been here twice now, to watch shows, it is a lovely place, and it is close to the imperial war museum. There are loads of restaurants and things to do. Very close to the coronation Street set, though you can't see anything or anyone.

Myself, my partner and two friends visited MediaCity UK for the afternoon.
We enjoyed the Ice-skating and a lovely work around.
Spent a few hours here.
We have been a few times and been involved with filming of a few TV shows.
Very clean and tidy 😁

Unusually we were lucky and got allocated tickets for A Question of Sport (been to BBC Audiences before in London they are very good, interesting and free and so were delighted to get "tickets" for this very popular show).

Salford Quays is now lovely, decided to make a day out of it, see where many BBC programmes will be relocted, have pub lunch, look around. (We've a longish journey so makes sense to make a day of it).

BBC do state that even though tickets have been allocated, it's still on a "first come-first served basis" - which is fair enough, they need to be sure of a full audience (so we went very early) to find that already a full audience there! Couldn't get in, although they do promise ticket allocation for next series - fine if you live say within an hour of Manchester and want to queue for several hours.

SO, just to help anybody else, if your "ticket" says 'doors open 4 pm' - turns out the audience had been queueing since 12.30 (also doors were open long before 4 pm) - in fact people were already queueing for evening show by 3 pm in afternoon.
WE DID KNOW THEY OVERSUBSCRIBE TO ENSURE FULL AUDIENCE, WE DIDN'T KNOW THAT IT'S BY 30%! Of course this is really much more than 30% because although, as promised we have been allocated "tickets" for the next series, we won't bother because we might not get in again. We weren't "in the know" but just to help anyone like us, go if you dont mind queueing for about 4 hours before stated time open, go earlier still to give yourself time to look around Salford Quays, especially on a sunny day, it's a nice trip out and the BBC staff, shows, are very entertaining.
