Adjacent to Berkeley Castle so easy to combine visit. Very informative with video presentations and artefacts/documents of the story of vaccination and its triumph over original detractors. The house has a room/study furnished in Jenner’s style and period, with all the other rooms given over to exhibitions. Expect to spend a good hour or more, probably not all the exhibits the most captivating for young children, as I suspect the information is beyond their level of education.

Thank you for your kind review. I am so pleased to see that you found the museum informative. We are constantly reviewing how we can improve our interpretation so will bear these comments in mind. We do however try to cater for children of all ages by providing various trails, craft activities, dressing up and garden games all tailored around Dr Jenner and his story.

Learn how Blossom the cow infected a milkmaid with cowpox and this led to Dr Jenner discovering how to vaccinate and protect his patients from the deadly disease smallpox.

What an amazing museum for this amazing man. There is just so much to see. It is best to watch the video first before viewing the rest of his home. They have a lovely garden where you can enjoy your picnic.

Spotted a leaflet about the place and decided upon a visit - a very interesting place with much to read and see about Dr Jenner and his impact upon health in the world. Remembered a fair bit about him from my school days but enjoyed adding to what I knew. All the staff were happy to talk and a pleasure to meet. Make sure you allow plenty of time but don't arrive before 11am like we did!

Thank you very much for your kind review. we're so glad you took a chance on us after seeing our leaflet. There isn't really anything to see at the museum before 11am, as you noticed, but we hope you took the opportunity to use our car park and visit St Mary's Church next door, where Edward Jenner is buried, or to get some sustenance at one of the two excellent cafes in Berkeley!
