The ground and first floor exhibitions are of no great interest. However the Holocaust exhibition on the second floor was worth the journey.. Tracing the lives of young survivors who came to live and eventually settle down.

Interesting little museum of the town of Waltham Abbey and local area. Nicely laid out with pleasant little garden area. Just wish they would allow you inside with your dog.

This is a brilliant little museum with clear informative material uncluttered by woke thought processes. The objects themselves varied from well known local and domestic to a couple of nationally important ones. A model of what a good modern museum resource should be.
What a shame therefore that the staff were not in the same league. The reception desk did not appear to know what was there and was unable to operate the till. The one member of staff on the stairs was too busy to waste his time answering questions - after all he was going to the office where a No10 style work party sounded to be in place.
Perhaps the staff had had a busy weekend !

Epping Forest Museum is in the pedestrianised Sun Street which is the main street. It is in an old Tudor house extended in Georgian times. There was nothing too special there unless you are a local resident. It has a cute little garden although a careless visitor had let his/her dog do its business when I visited.

This is the second time I have visited this museum , it's a lovely museum which is set out well all the exhibits are displayed with information on this visit the special exhibition was on space flight you could see so much thought and effort had been put into the display , there was even small space suits for children to try on I would highly recommend this museum and with the school holidays coming soon it's a great place to bring the children and it's free

This is a lovely compact museum set over 3 floors (with a lift). Although I have lived within easy reach of this museum had never visited it. It is so very interesting and because it centres its finds on a local area, you will find lots that interest you.
We went as a group and were lucky enough to have a talk which made so many items come to life instead of just looking at them in display boxes.

Found this museum's exhibits varied and interesting. It is set out over three or so floors but there is a small lift for those that have difficulty climbing stairs. A varied programme of different activities over the next few months for a small fee are also available. Entry to the museum is free with opportunity to volunteer if local. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

The name is a misnomer as the museum is based in Waltham Abbey town focusing on social history whereas Epping Forest District museum would bring up the idea it was a natural history museum.
However dispite this there are very interesting exhibits from around Waltham Abbey (ok I admit, the district of Epping Forest). The museum is clean, has a lift for those with mobility issues although you have to keep your hand on the button. And the staff are polite and friendly.
Access is free.
