The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch is a vibrant producing theatre in the London Borough of Havering, serving East London, Essex and beyond since 1953. As a registered charity and the cultural hub of the region, over 200,000 people enjoy the theatre's programme every year, including the best in home-produced theatre, visiting live entertainment and inspiring Learning and Participation projects. The Queen's receives regular funding from the London Borough of Havering and is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. This helps us put theatre at the heart of the cultural life of the community we serve.

We went to this theatre with my parents to watch a Christmas show and we really enjoyed our time there. The tickets were very reasonable, you could get a drink or coffee in the foyer area before and during the show. The show was enjoyable and we are hoping it comes back next year. The seats are comfortable, and the theatre is very clean.

The queens is a great place to go. Whether it’s for coffee, lunch or a pre theatre meal (not bad choices for a limited cafe)
The staff are all so friendly and helpful and the group of friends I go with I actually met at the theatre.
I have now moved out of the area and still come for each production as much for the shows as to meet up with friends. The downside is that recently the choice of plays has not been great. I don’t really want to watch plays set in the local area as I lived here I come to the theatre for escapism. Not to feel underwhelmed when I leave. The best thing recently was One man two guvnors which was superb. The lead actor was brilliant, deserves fame and should be brought back for more shows just to liven them up! Now don’t get me wrong the tickets are wonderfully priced and there are the lots of different shows so in a season of three there will be at least one to look forward to. Often more, I just tend to prefer classics like Shakespeare and comedies and musicals. This theatre also has brilliant one nighters and a variety of musical and comedy numbers which are excellent. They also recently housed the great Ian McKellan which was understandably a sell out. The queens is not only very good at getting well know and famous actors to tread the boards and that’s always fun.

Congratulations Queen's Theatre - your Macbeth was superb. All the cast were great, the set and sound effects incredibly atmospheric - and the script wasn't bad either! We were there on Tuesday 26 Feb, sitting close to a group of about 100 young people. They were perfectly behaved. We heard more noise from adults unwrapping sweets!

This theatre used to be good and either refunded you or you could bank your money for a future show if they cancelled a show on you and vice versa. Alas that's not the case now. Due to a covid incident my partner and I, obviously, couldn't attend a recent performance and so they decided to keep our money. The two tickets cost a total of £20.00, no great loss for me, but they were really desperate for the money. We were regular customers at this theatre, but we will never be back. Also the hot food is not very good quality and overpriced and prepared by people who don't wear gloves.

Not having been to the theatre since before lockdown I was very excited to be going to see the show Love Letters. Having read the London reviews it seemed a light hearted, small cast show.
How wrong I was!
Amateur performance, with over acting loud performers. The worse being a guy playing the guitar, abrasive and out of tune. The tickets were £30 each, totally over charged for such a terrible performance. My 4 friends and I stayed until half time. Worst show I have ever seen

First time I've been here in a few years. Quite disappointed with the set up to buy drinks when you arrive. Seemed to be quite disorganised with long queues. No dedicated bar as such but a makeshift sort of arrangement on the ground floor. We were encouraged to buy our drinks at the cafe section but the selection of drinks here was limited so we didn't get what we wanted. The auditorium itself is well maintained and the seats are comfortable. The entertainment - Rhiannan singing Fleetwood Mac was ok in parts but not as professional and good as other tribute bands I have seen. Would have expected a little higher standard performing here.

Visited to see musical show yesterday. Show was very good and the theatre is in my opinion better than the more celebrated , cliffs pavillion . Queens has a much cosier feel which creates a more vibrant atmosphere. However really need to sort out the bar. Main problem seems to be the rate of flow from the beer/lager taps. Took an age to serve individuals and despite queing immediately the interval commenced , we had barely been served by the time we were called back in !

Excellent performance, first time attending a Shakespeare play attended to help my daughter with her GCSE so wasn’t expecting to be entertained. The play was amazing, I was shocked at the talented performers, was expecting a very low standard for small local theatre but was blown away with the acting. Will be back

I have been coming to the Queens for years and years. We saw Adrian Mole The Musical tonight and it was absolutely brilliant. Extremely talented cast who sing, act and play instruments. The place was rocking and it is a West End calibre show. You must see this show and leave with a smile on your face. Congratulations to everyone involved.
