The carpark leads to a visitor centre with an uninspiring café. This café with its disposable cups and anaesthetic sitting area is best avoided, there is a much nicer restaurant and sitting out area in the main garden area – where the soup was delicious). At this time of year the first garden beside the entrance is now past its... More

A superb garden visit with a lovely large ornamental pond. Good food in restaurant and tea areas. Plenty of seating. Very wheelchair friendly and mobility scooter friendly (I took my elderly mum). Cannot rate it highly enough.

Only 25 minutes from home a lovely escape. Two options for food cafe style and shop or if you are a member into the garden with a restaurant at top of hill. A lovely dry garden, a new vegetable garnden being built some spectacular plants though the labelling could be improved upon.

Currently undergoing development. When it is complete will be beautiful. The gardens are well maintained with good views of Essex. Variety of food available in café.

As you would expect these are great gardens to explore and relax in. The beauty is always different even it is only a few weeks since your last visit. The garden shop is well stocked with an excellent range of plants. There are two restaurants where you can get a good lunch.

A pleasant uphill walk (there is a facility for disabled transport but we didn't use it) to the restaurant through the flower gardens that are forever changing with always something new to admire. The staff are always friendly and able to discuss dietary requirements which is impressive as I am mainly vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free. I always manage... More

This is a great place to visit if you like flowers and plants. They also have special days for young children. I have been several times and it is different each time as the season progresses. There is a thatched barn at the top which serves some delicious home made food.

Nicely developed RHS site with the added advantage of a really good value restaurant a short walk once through the entrance. Menu changes regularly, good quality cuisine and exceptional value.

This is a nice way to spend a day out with some stunning flowers and a beautiful pond. We were lucky enough to see some very young ducklings and colourful dragonflies. My disabled mum is in an electric buggy and managed to get round most places. The only criticism re this is that there were no signs indicating the best... More
