If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

Overcrowded with tourists and dogs. Liked the artist water installation near the end of pier, many seats along the pier, restaurants game centre shops, all the tacky tourist facilities were thriving there.

TBH walked up one side and back down the other. Some lovely plaques to read that people have put there. Good for fishing off the end.

Visited over a sunny Bank Holiday weekend! Plenty to see and do on the pier, including eating, drinking and amusements! Spent time in the amusements, which was huge fun for someone my age (30+ 😄). Also had a drink and cake in one of the restaurants. Would visit again!

You can go to the end of this pier and enjoy the views for nothing. There's plenty to entertain you: all the commemorative plaques, wacky mirrors (I liked the one that made me look slimmer!), the under the pier show, the amusements (my daughter won enough tickets for a giant snake she had her eye on all week) and a... Quick visit to the pier on our family daytrip as it was getting very windy and a little chilly. Some good old fashioned arcade machines with plenty 2p ones for the kiddies. Briefly looked at the under the pier show, but it was a little too warm to stay in there for very long. Everything on the pier was very... More

Loved the quirky nature of the pier and the good old fashioned fun it promoted with the home made arcade machines. We loved the hall of mirrors too.

Its some time since I've been there but it was like a step back in time. They have these machines that our grandparents would have raved at and some very odd stuff. Very different from any other seaside town.

If your not keen on Gt Yarmouth with the endless amusement arcades then the beautiful Soldwold Pier is a perfect place for children. One Amusement Arcade. I don't think Southwold Town Council would allow more than one! a couple of lovely shops and a great stroll looking out over Southwold. Free Parking and clean toilets! Is this really a UK... More
