If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

This is a cute little pier that doesn't succumb to tackiness (although I enjoy a slot machine as much as anyone else, if there were any here they were kept out of sight). It's a short walk to the end and there are nice views of the town. There's a clock about halfway along that plays on the hour and... More

Often visit Southwold, and always the pier - which is less busy off season, but still worth the trip. Fantastic games and arcades - really off the wall, very original, and reminiscent of pier amusements of a bygone era, but with a wicked modern sense of humour. The cafes and ice cream are good too, and the water clock is... More

We are lucky to live quite close to Southwold and always visit the pier. The grandchildren love the 'hand made old machines' their description, not mine. They spend hours in there looking at and having a go on the various attractions. You will not be short of somewhere to eat as there are loads of cafes along the pier. Nothing... More

We went in Early July, before school holiday season - the pier was moderately full of a combination of families with small children and older folks. It's a nice pier - and the ice cream looked very, very good! Sadly, on the day we visited, the weather was a bit windy and overcast - but on a nice day this... More

Absolutely loved it here! So different and unique and imaginative! Lots to do and see - look out for the copper clock! The shops along the pier are adorable and the tea rooms are a great treat (a little pricey) Endless sea views and beautiful beaches either side.

not huge but lovely. Small amusement arcade and some lovely little shops. Helpful staff. Plenty of seating. Clean and not grubby or tacky

Wonderful night out at the pier restaurant. Cod & chips, cheese to share and a bottle of wine. Staff were very friendly and helpful, moved us to a larger table near the window so that we would enjoy are evening. It is a little pricy however it was a lovely night out at a unique location. Well worth the visit.

Go on the hour/half hour for the water clock. The automaton area is great so take coins to be able to partake...it's well worth it.
