The harbour viewpoint is a great point to just sit and watch all the shipping coming into and out of Harwich and Felixstowe. Some of the container ships are simply unbelievable with containers stacked high on their decks. There is a well-run, but very busy café beside the car park. Surprisingly, car parking is still free.

Looking at the docks sounds boring. But these docks are awesome. You can see thoroughly modern container ships being unloaded, and the scales are huge. But the amazing thing is it is all so user-friendly, with free car park, bench seats, a cafe, and great sea views.

Parked by the old fort , so much going on from huge container ships being loaded/ unloaded . Ships of all sizes and types passing by. There is a few seats and a well stocked cafe in easy walking distance. A foot / bike ferry also runs from Felixstowe to Harwich : local buses also stop here. Land guard fort... More

Great viewing spot for the shipping coming in and out. Free parking - benches to sit on and a pebbles beach. Airy café with good coffee, breakfasts etc looked good. Loos clean and spacious. Educational area with maps and shipping movements of limited interest - more for little ones

The viewing area at the Port of Felixstowe is well worth a visit. There is a cafe there for snacks and drinks, but it is fascinating to just sit awhile and watch the activity around the big ships. When I say big - I mean HUGE - it really is amazing to see these fantastic monsters in action. When we... More

So big, so silent. Great to get so close to such giants. Amazing to be right alongside one of Europe's largest working ports (and perhaps only 20 meters from the worlds largest container ships) yet be so quiet. A must visit area when in this part os suffolk.

The viewing area at the Port of Felixstowe, is i fantastic place to just seat and watch the world go by, wondering how those massive ships stay afloat on the seas of the world. There is toilets and a cafe at the site too, Free parking.

The worse part of town with absolutely nothing to recommend as the only nice part of Felixstowe is away from the promenade towards the ferry and Pavillion Theatre Whole place is stuck in a 70s time warp
