We had a super 4 hours with Darwin and the owls. Darwin and Sandy are great hosts, so knowledgeable and so caring for the owls. Highly recommend for any age. Something you will definitely remember. Be curious and ask questions, you’ll get so much from the experience. The owls are full of character and very gentle. Great value for money. Thank you

We booked for a family of four and had a really lovely time! We were joined by Darwin who was absolutely brilliant and told us lots of really interesting information. The children really enjoyed themselves and loved learning about the owls and holding them. We were very well looked after with plenty of snacks and drinks. Stayed indoors for most of the session as was very cold outside so it suited us very well. My son is already asking to go back! Many thanks Sandy and Darwin you made us feel very welcome and we learned so much!

My husband and I had the best experience - I organised it for his 60th birthday as we both love owls and wanted something truly memorable to do together. We were not too sure what to expect but the whole time at Sandra's home was special and unique in every way. Sandra and Darwin are such a great team - knowledgeable, passionate about the birds and their work, kind, very friendly (felt like we had known them for years when we left) and both have great senses of humour that were so in tune with us. We loved the way the information about the owls was presented but being able to handle the owls was just magical. They are amazing birds and kept in fantastic beautifully clean surroundings - it is clear they are content and healthy as so chilled and happy to be passed around. Their reactions to Sandra and Darwin were very funny too. I didn't care that I was poo'd on - we were warned about this at the start - it was just funny (hubby thought it was hiliarious as his birds did it and somehow always managed to miss him!). Sandra even prepared warm mince pies to have with our tea alongside a platefull of other cakes. We would not hesitate to go back and plan to take our adult kids next year. Just amazing! Thank you Sandra and Darwen - what a team!

What a wonderful experience we all had.
We took our dad & Judith for a surprise visit here!
Didn’t really know what to expect, but we were made to feel so welcome.
We were met by the lovely Darwin, ( what a knowledgeable young man!)
Who throughout the 4 hours we were there, kept us enthralled.
His love, passion and dedication towards all these beautiful owls shinned through.
All the information was delivered in such a way that it was so easy to absorb.
All the owls were kept in spotless averies , which were very spacious .
The owls even had soft toys in there ( pink hedgehog/rabbit)
We even met Spit the seagull , who flew down and followed Sandra in to the kitchen ,
to be fed!
This was a very special day for Judith who had this experience on her bucket list!!
Sandra the owner made this so special for her and for us as a family to share ,a memory that she will cherish.
What a lady Sandra is , her love for her owls ( her baby’s , as he called them) is so apparent.
Her passion , love and dedication towards these beautifully kept birds comes through in her personality! You can see the pride she takes in caring for them all.
As for the owls they were so well behaved, so calm and relaxed when we were all holding them.
Except for most of them all having a little POO over my dad! We all found this so funny!!
We would all like to thank Sandra and Darwin for such a great experience.
We would love to visit again.

Amazing owl experience. I purchased an owl experience for my mum and I purchased one for myself to accompany her. We had and amazing time learning about owls and how to handle them. We then had a brilliant few hours as we were able to get up close with lots of different owls big and small. We got to look around where the owls live.
We are so looking forward to going back. You do have to book well in advance.

What a birthday treat! I bought a voucher for my partner for his birthday and booked the date of my choice! So easy to book, Sandra replied to queries quickly and we got the date booked as well as a voucher organised. The voucher itself is beautiful and really packs a punch as a gift.
We arrived for our visit and were welcomed by the amazing Darwin who is so knowledgeable and a lovely young man. We then met Sandra who is so lovely and again, so knowledgeable!
We met a number of owls, found out all about them, got to hold them and now know all of their little idiosyncrasies that build each of their individual characters. We also got some amazing photos and videos and had just the best day!
My partner enjoyed his birthday gift so much and will be telling everyone about it for ages.

We visited during the open day in August and Sandra gave us such an informative and extensive tour. The owls are beautifully looked after and we learnt so much. Don't miss if you are in the area. Thanks for holding the open day. We came home with some great photos. We'll definitely be back for another visit.

My sister and I visited Happisburgh Owls when they had a recent open day, it was such a treat to be able to see these beautiful birds close up. Our guide was Alec, he told us plenty of information about each bird and happily answered any questions we had. I would love to visit them again to see these fantastic birds, and heartily recommend it!

The event starts at 11am and lasted to about 2.30pm. We were met by a very friendly guide called Darwin who could not have been more helpful. My mother has restricted mobility but managed to access both the building and the garden. The highlight is the opportunity to get up close with the owls; a beautiful barn owl called Hope; a wonderful character called Bracken; a pretty little Indian owl and some larger birds too. The birds are very calm and one or two enjoy a little tickle but generally stroking and touching is considered inappropriate as these are very delicate creatures. visitors should be prepared to look but not touch.

Drive towards the village of Happisburgh along Whimpwell St you will approach a staggered junction turn right into Lighthouse Lane drive to the bottom of the lane and the owl visit is the last bungalow on the left on the corner right in front of the lighthouse

Is it private booking only? And if so how much is it and how do you book?

It is private booking only. I think the maximum number is 6. It’s not a cheap day out but it is worth every penny. You’ll need to check directly but I think we paid £170 ish for 4 people.

Although your dogs could be in your vehicle in my drive they could not be around my owls . So in all honesty due to the lenght of your viewing I would say not a good idea.

Sandra @ Happisburgh Owls is obviously the best person to answer this . Due to the close inter action with the owls I would imagine it best to leave your dogs at home for your visit . Enjoy ! 😊
