Great afternoon spent at the May meeting watching exciting races in a perfect setting. So much had been organised to ensure a Covid safe time with the bonus of not having to wear masks in the open air. A friendly team ensures Fakenham is a happy place to spend five hours with plenty of places to eat, drink and socialise and if you’re lucky you might come home with money in your pocket! Thoroughly recommend.

Day at Fakenham races on Sunday 23 May 2021, smaller crowd and very well organised. We got in and out of the course super quick and a good time was had by all in our bubble.
Well down Fakenham race course team for working so hard to make this event feel safe and relaxed in these difficult times.

We went on New Years Day, having not been for many years. Absolutely loved it. Parking was well marshalled and access to the racecourse was also well organised. Once inside, there were a good variety of eateries and a couple of restaurants including currylicious which I would fully recommend (booking in advance advisable). I’m not to familiar with the racing game, and not a gambler, but when in Rome... Options to bet were vast and very easy. I chose names I liked and won 3 races out of 5. There was another race but I was freezing by the end of the 5th race and wanted to quit whilst I was well in profit. The atmosphere was brilliant especially as the horses came to the last couple of fences and viewing was excellent due to the huge screens around the circuit. We had a great day and can’t wait to go again.

Dear Chris G, what a lovely review - thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts! I am really pleased that you loved your day at the races despite it being a busy raceday. Congratulations on your impressive winnings too! :) I hope that you will pay us a visit again very soon and enjoy a day out with your friends and loved ones.

Booked for the bank holiday weekend (fri-mon) but due to the weather arrived Saturday morning (which was our own choice) great signage to find the site should you not know the area. Went into reception to get the relevant pack and details for our pitch which was 105, the site map is very detailed and informative.

Very disappointed upon finding and turning up to the pitch, we were on the doorstep of a cafe/restaurant style building which wasn’t highlighted or detailed on the map. Ten minutes later the owner pulled up outside our front door taking food in to say they were open tonight for takeaway only from 5-8.

We didn't put our awning up as it was windy and raining and honestly if we did then it would be over the restaurants door. We took a drive out for a few hours and came back to find our pitch with cars around the caravan and upon asking we found out it was the owners or workers from the restaurant, asked them to move and after a few huffs and excuses they moved one car. Would not recommend this pitch and just felt like we were in someone’s carpark, if the sun was shining we wouldn’t have wanted to sit outside.

Facilities were on our doorstep and couldn’t fault how clean they were. Great location just a very poor pitch which should either be unavailable and just be for the (Punjabi Indian Food) restaurant or be made clear on the map and upon booking that this is on your doorstep. Oh and if you like loud music until gone midnight and someone shouting down a microphone then this is the place to visit! We were made aware of this issue the night before we were due to arrive which is no fault of the racecourse’s but be aware upon booking.

On booking I had asked that my parents are pitched close as they are in their 80s and required support. On arrival they stated that we could not be together even though there were several pitches visibly together and empty. My parents were as far away as physically possible and I spent my time back and forth. To make matters worse the pitch next to my parents remained free for the whole stay. As far as the site we were surrounded by screaming children both from the Indian restaurant and large groups pitched together. No staff were present to monitor this and on several occasions the children had to be asked not to touch our awning.
I suggest that you arrange for training on organisation of pitching as a child could do better. I would also ensure a staff presence to stop children running riot!! Very disappointed and will not return

A relaxed, friendly environment for a race day newby. Graded ticketing for access to certain sections of the course is something that doesn't appeal much - although this was waived somewhat whilst the facilities are being upgraded - but I guess this is traditional and the course has to thrive.
Good facilities & parking etc.
Splendid time is guaranteed for all.

Beautiful racecourse with camping facilities. Welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent facilities and plenty of drink and food choices. £25 for a day members experience, a great value day out. If you camp for 2 nights you get free entry to the race meeting or can upgrade at a discount to grandstand or day membership. Plenty to do in surrounding north Norfolk.

We stayed in October 2020 when the weather was pretty mixed, sun and rain. Our pitch (37) looked directly over the finishing line. Good supply of electricity which we blew staightaway as is our wont! Reception staff were very helpful and friendly so this was rectified very quickly. Showers and loos very clean, sanitised and heated. Lovely hot water and plenty of room in the shower cubicles. Deposit £5 for shower block key refundable. Easy walking(about 15 minutes)into the town of Fakenham where there’s a big Tesco. We would come again, recommended 😃😃

For our very 1st Caravanning experience we chose well. Actually we struggled to book anywhere else in Norfolk as we left it very late, having just decided to invest in our 2nd hand caravan. Facilities were all clean, the site was not very busy and check in and out was very easy. We were quite lucky with the weather as we had a grass pitch, we have yet to experience much wind and rain. We loved exploring the Norfolk coast and found some nice beaches. The site was very handy for the golf course, I managed 9 holes with my Brother-in-law who is a member so I got a discount. Eating out in Fakenham was okay but we should’ve booked, we didn’t try the on site eating places but intend coming back again and trying them out. We had a pleasant short holiday experience.
