We had a lovely day out here despite a couple of sleet showers! We really enjoyed walking around and visiting the hides - the woodland one especially was brilliant! Our only gripe is that whilst we appreciate the reasons for some areas being closed off it was a shame this wasn't mentioned on the website so we could decide whether... More

Stunning landscaped gardens, bird watching, wildlife walks, well designed indoor & outdoor play areas, local history, kids activities, decent cafe and gift shop. I notice some reviews found entry a bit too steep, get your money's worth by taking a picnic and spending all day there, there are some beautiful long walks around the lake.

We haven't been here for a generation so we took our 3 and a quarter year old grand daughter today. £10.95 for her and same for us as Seniors. It was cold and there were bird flu restrictions but was it value for money? We had a good walk and everything is very well done but our grand daughter was... More

Thank you for your review and taking the time to feedback about your visit. We value receiving both good and bad feedback, so that we can ensure we get things right for our visitors. Unfortunately we can't do much about the cold weather and our restrictions on feeding the ducks and viewing our bird collection are precautionary measures we must... More

Pensthorpe has plenty of wildlife, both fauna and flora. It's a good day out for families, and there are often special events which are usually included in the ntrance price. There is a great adventure playground outside, as well as an indoor play area. The cafe, toilets and shop are free to visit.

Thank you very much for your feedback. For the benefit of other readers, with regards to Hootz House indoor play area, we just want to clarify that parents can remain downstairs with the children, if they wish. There is no requirement for adults to sit upstairs and as it is a mezzanine floor (like a balcony), it means that parents... More

Although we had had substantial rain in the preceding days they had managed to keep most of the site open. A lovely walk through the woods and some time in a hide made for a pleasant morning, we didn't see another person until we got back to the centre. We stayed for lunch and despite the fact that they had... More

We visited the site as a stop for lunch on a coach trip to Thursford. We were met at the coach by a very friendly gentleman who guided us to the restaurant for our meal of homemade mushroom soup and an impressive array of sandwiches. The gift shop was brilliant with items well priced. Unfortunately we did not have time... More
