Our group hunted for the northern lights. Our guide Benjamin came for us on the a comfortable bus ,where there is a cafe with tables with burning candles. The stewardess served hot tea and beer and snack. I was lucky to see a fantastic natural phenomenon-The Northern Lights. Thanks Benjamin,he took each photo against the background of the Northern Lights..

To start off with this is amazing value in a country that charges £25 for a bottle of lager and a glass of white wine. Picked up on time. Driven out to where the light pollution was much less, although we did stop en route because Benjamin spotted the lights and got us all photographed with the polar bear sign. Nice touch. Can't really fault this trip. We saw the lights. The photos I took were rubbish. The ones Benjamin took were great. There's food and drink options on the coach. Benjamin gives you a business card and then sends you a drop box link to download your photos the same night. Spot on. And all fot the price of of a couple of whale steaks. Bargain.

We saw incredible lights. The guide provided instructions on how to set the camera up properly. The guide also took shots for clients in front of the lights and made them available online. Really great trip.

We really enjoyed the bus tour as we got to see the NothernLights for more than an hour. Importantly , since Benjamin was local and have been doing these tours for a long time, knew the exact locations.

The bonus of the tour being Benjamin bouncing up as a professional photographer and giving ll the pictures at no additional charge. this meant that we could enjoy the natural wonder without worrying about the camera settings.

Strongy recommend the tour

First Ben took us on a tour around Longyearbyen with in the end a visit into his inside farming. He told us a lot and we enjoined it very much! In the evening he was the driver/guide for the Northernlight search. Again he was very much entertaining. And took photo's of us and the light! We where lucky.

I did the ‘hunting the northern light’ tour with this company and it was awesome!! First of all of course to see the magnificent phenomenon of nature (and woww it was some show!!🤩), but also because of the guides. They were very hospitable and nice. And as a ‘cherry to the cake’ Benjamin shared some pictures made during the event with us. So wonderful as a long lasting memory. Thanks again for the awesome experience. Definitely recommend it!

We got an e-mail two hours before the tour saying there were to few people to do the tour ! Maybe they should have counted the number of people a bit earlyer. This turned our whole evening up side down.

Thanks for your feedback! We keep the tours open until 20:00, so normally we only give a one hour notice when we cancel, but you were extremely lucky that day to get a two hour notice. All the best to you and thanks again for your understanding during these extremely difficult times with Covid-19. Everyone is doing the best they can to deal with this unfortunate situation, and the show must go on...

Interesting tour around Longyearbyen to places that are a bit hard to reach without a car, while talking about everyday life in Longyearbyen, permaculture and how to grow plants in the arctic climate. The greenhouse was amazing! We had great fun cooking and eating a delicious meal, including a fresh salad from the greenhouse. I do admire Ben´s energy and willpower, not giving up but living his dream, he is a fascinating person to meet. This tour is a unique experience, don´t miss out on it!

It was amazing to meet you and it is also nice to see that what I have been fighting for all of this time was actually worth it. I wanted to do this in order to connect people in Longyearbyen back to the food, and make Longyearbyen more sustainable. This review here shows me that I am on the right track and I want to continue to follow this path. Thanks for your time, and I hope to meet you all again soon!

Benjamin gave us an amazing walkthrough of his operations at Polar Permaculture. A start up of his own going on many years now, locals and internationals love him for his work in arctic farming. Growing a variety of greens for sale, some of the biggest restaurants in town even carry his business’s name on their menu when making use of his fresh ingredients. We were able to assist Ben on a few deliveries as well as got a great tour of remaining parts of Longyearbyen we missed out on, all while discussing life in Svalbard and the efforts to growing and farming here.

I visited this place out of sheer curiosity and got a private tour around the lab and the dome:
Benjamin, the owner, as well as all the volunteers taking part in this new project were so enthusiastic about their work, so that their enthusiasm set me (quite unexpectedly) on fire as well!

You don't only learn about the difficulties of growing vegetables, herbs etc. in the Arctic, but also about the scientific effects the 24 hours of sunlight have on the plants, some looked very different to what they look like at home:
You really had the feeling to be part of this "futuristic"-exploration.

The value was great for what you got to see and especially learn and I'd recommend it to all ages as they also offered the possibility to get active yourself, which would be great for people visiting with children, too!
