About
Karlsberger Pub, known as KB by the locals, is a small, but very content pub in the heart of Longyearbyen. We have one of Europes finest selections of whiskey and cognac, and with over a thousand different sorts we are able to require the uppermost choice for everyone depending on their preference. We hold for instance an unique collection of Armagnac, extending from 1908 to 1989. What about drinking an Armagnac which is at the same age as you? Or maybe from the year your grandfather was born?

For somewhere so remote, we were really surprised to find a bar like this with such an extraordinary selection of drinks - well over 100 varieties of whisky, lots of fantastic local draft beer from the Svalbard Brewery, and plenty of other interesting spirits. Not a huge place so seating is quite limited, but well worth stopping by for a drink or two. Really reasonable prices as well.

The male staff at the bar was unfriendly and not very service minded .. a good service and friendly staff is to me the most important thing which is the reason for the bad rating.

I have been at this bar a couple of times, and I can recommend it. Specially if you are a whisky lover, they have a huge amount of different whisky types here.

Hi karlsberger pub. Just experienced that my near to sober girlfriend was refused to buy beer at your bar for being to drunk. We're both living here and have been to the bar plenty of times before it had the rebuild. Just want to know if the change in interior also means that the spirit of the place have changed from serving people to serving rich tourists? If that is the case we'll find another place to go in the future. We're sorry to do that because this used to be the best bar on Svalbard and the 6. best bar in the world. Now it just seems like a hole in the ground...

Hello Peter. I am very sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience visiting us. We have strict policys regarding serving, and sometimes this can lead to misunderstanding. KB is supposed to be a place for everyone, both the locals and the rich (or poor) tourists. I do wish you rather than writing this review had stepped by us the next day, or called us, we would very much have appreciated to hear your side of the story and find a solution for it. What can I say but this is the best bar in Svalbard, not that the others are bad but this is great. Cosy, music at just the right level and smiling bar staff. A brilliant bar all round.

Proper good cosy bar with a stunning selection of spirits as well as a good range of beers. A great place to have pre dinner drinks or just stay and chill all evening.

Really great pub that it is easy to miss, a really nice atmosphere and an amazing whisky selection. Cool photos on the wall of miners and mining history, all dimly lit to add to the atmosphere, a great Pub !
