I had a wonderful trip out to Skellig with John, his co-pilot, and his two dogs last week. John stopped along the way to make sure we could all see a pod of Dolphins. And when the crossing got a little rougher out passed the headland, Watson - the elder doggie, made sure I was safe and warm by choosing me as his seat :) - A true honour. Skellig itself is wonderful and well worth the trip.

We booked our trip to The Skelligs with John O’Shea based on a strong recommendation from my wife’s sister. John’s boat departs from Bealtra pier vs. Port Magee making it closer to Caherdaniel. His is the only boat to depart from here. We left at 7:15am an early start but it meant we were the first boat to land at Skellig Michael - important given the number of boat trips that come from Port Magee, a shorter trip. It was a wonderful experience. John and first mate are very capable seamen and we felt completely at ease with them. The crossing lasts approx. 2 hours. The weather was perfect and we spent just over 2 hours on Skellig Michael. Highly recommend visiting Skellig Michael. Go with John and you will not be disappointed!

The trip to and from with John was a pleasure. The journey was just over an hour each way. Would highly recommend the trip - we were lucky to have fantastic weather. John’s cabin crew of two dogs were very friendly!!

Exceptional experience. Everything worked like clockwork. John has an organised easy air to him. The trip out took about 1 hour 30 mins. and included a close up trip to little Skellig, which looks even more dramatic than Skellig Michael. We loved that he brought his 3 friendly dogs who were very entertaining. Skellig Michael landing tour was fantastic. On our return, John took us around skellig Michael which was unexpected. We were blessed with very good weather which really added to our experience.
