About
Acqua Plus Water Park was the first ever water park in the area of East Europe. It was also the first in Europe to create and put in use the so called cashless system. Build only few minutes from Hersonissos in Crete it is with no doubt the most popular water park in Crete. The combination of water slides, natural environment and great people make this theme park a unique proposal to spend a day during your vacations.

- Ejd1056Beckingham, United Kingdom208 contributionsGood day outWe came here for a day out on a recent holiday and were pleased with our experience. It wasn’t too busy and you could easily get on everything you wanted to. Yes some of the slides are dated but you get what you pay for and for what we paid we were pleased. There is plenty to do, plenty of sun beds and the food at the restaurant is reasonably priced. Worth a tripVisited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 15, 2023
- Sophie14 contributionsAmazing experienceIt was so fun here, staff of the water park were friendly and welcome. Large place with lots of slide options. We managed to get food with our booking and it was actually really nice we had chicken rice and a lovely Greek salad and an ice cream, all covered within our booking. Slides were fun but beware of the blue old one near the rubber ring ones, we went on it and could not see from water spraying up and our nose blocked, it was scary we could not see a thing😂 Besides that very good and enjoyable experienceThank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a great time at our water park and enjoyed the food included with your booking. We're glad you found our staff friendly and the variety of slides fun. We appreciate your feedback about the blue slide; we’ll make sure to review its conditions to ensure a better experience for future guests. If you have any other suggestions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know. - Lyd23 contributionsFun day but lockers are a conWe planned a day to the waterpark as we were only a 10min taxi away. We had a great day here, we went on a Monday and got there for 11am and the park was relatively quiet, we didn’t queue for any rides and plenty of rings available. Great variety of rides for the size of the park, staff that manned the rides were helpful and attentive. We didn’t eat here as it was quiet we were done in a couple hours. The wristbands and used to put your tab on and then you pay at the end. Drinks were reasonably priced. One thing that let it down was the lockers, it is made to seem like on the website that you pay a €5 deposit you get backs but that’s if you loose the key. It is €4.50 for a large locker which for x2 people you need. You can just leave your things in a sunbed but always a risk. Overall a fun day out and worth it if you like water rides!Thank you for your detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear you had a great day at the park and enjoyed the variety of rides and the helpful staff. It’s good to know the wristband system and drink prices met your expectations. We appreciate your feedback about the locker pricing and deposit system. - Owen HerdColchester, United Kingdom5 contributionsSurprisingly good funSurprisingly good experience! Everything was clean, and the rides were really enjoyable. The staff were all friendly. A couple of minor issues: there were some hornets and wasps around, and the bright yellow floor made the sunlight a bit intense. Overall, it was very fun! The lazy river was quite calm, more like a still swimming pool in a circle. The photos were a bargain if you get taken a photo by the cameraguy. It was also pretty quiet when we went, we were also told it was a Greek bank holiday as well, so don't worry about it being busy.Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had a surprisingly good experience and enjoyed the cleanliness, rides, and friendly staff. We appreciate your feedback on the hornets and wasps, we’ll take this into consideration for future improvements. It’s great to know you found the photos a good deal and that the park was quiet during your visit. - Toby T38 contributionsFun dayFun day out, slides weren’t that busy and longest wait was around 5 mins. There’s a good amount to do and the park is big enough that you don’t lose anyone. The food is very reasonably priced and are very good portions, whilst there’s plenty of lockers, Sun loungers and space generally. One (quite major) con is that the place is incredibly slippery. There are very few places that have proper flooring so you will inevitably slip at some point. Wouldn’t recommend if you don’t have full mobility as there are a lot of steps around the park generally. In all a good day and would return. Would also strongly recommend booking online as you save about €6 vs on the day.Thank you for your detailed review! We’re glad to hear you had a fun day at the park and enjoyed the slides, food, and the overall space. We appreciate your feedback about the slippery areas and understand your concerns. We’re always looking for ways to improve safety and comfort. Thank you for recommending booking online to save on tickets.
- Adam GLee, United Kingdom24 contributionsGood waterparkGood watermark, clean, staff decent. Only real downside is they need height restrictions at the base of slides. The age of a person doesn't convey their height or suitability from a ride. I saw smaller 7 year old go on rides that my taller 6 year old was told no. Needs to be clearer and fairer.Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you found the park clean and appreciated the staff. We understand your concerns about the height restrictions and will review our policies to ensure they are clearer and fairer for all guests. - Simon R3 contributionsGood park, bit dated, mind the slippery floorsGood value water park, it is a bit dated but that didn’t stop us having a great day, the park was clean so was the water, lifeguards friendly shame the man at the reception was rude. Good selection of food and drink and decent price. They have colour painted the floors that are very slippery when wet. Overall a good day we all enjoyed ourselves.Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you had a great day at the park and enjoyed the selection of food and drinks. We appreciate your comments on the cleanliness of the park and the friendly lifeguards. - Rob PGlasgow, United Kingdom85 contributionsExcellent day at the best water park I've been to since DisneyWe spent a whole day at the Acqua Plus water park, and all of us (6 of us ranging from 17 to 50 odd) really enjoyed the day, with plenty of rides and pool areas to keep us all busy. We arrived when the park opened at 10 (top tip, the coaches arrive from about 11 so it's pretty quiet until then) and got some loungers near the lazy river - this was a good spot as it was slightly away from the paths yet close to a bar and toilets. It got reasonably busy but never more than a 5mins wait for a ride (there are lots spread out across the park) and the toilets/showers/bars were spotless and in good order. Excellent when you consider this was peak holiday season. We had food there - as some have mentioned it's very reasonably priced with a lot of choice - which was a little busy but there were plenty of tables under cover so you could eat out of the sun. We had club sandwiches, gyros, pepper chicken and rice (yum!) and salads plus drinks for 6 of us all for less than 70 euros - very good price really. The rides we enjoyed the most were Kamikaze, Black Holes, Hydrotube, and the giant slides. The Tsunami was the scariest ride I went on but the younger adults went on the extreme slides and enjoyed the Giants of Terror and said they were fantastic. The slopes up to the ride became a little slippy at times, we did feel that the mats up some of the steeper slopes could have been extended as there were some gaps. Some kids were running and slipped, but if you didn't run you should be fine. The park closed at 6, but the rides stopped at 5.30pm which gave people plenty of time to get to the exit and pay. To buy anything on site, you simply scanned your wrist band and then paid at the end - this did cause a bit of a queue at the gates, but most people had left about 4.30 as they were getting coaches back, so the queue was only 5 mins or so. Lifeguards were excellent with us, but pretty short with some of the teenagers that were messing around and not paying attention. We were all happy with that as it made most of the park a very good place to spend the day. We bought the tickets online for 25 euros, it was 30 euro for adult tickets on the door. Here’s a response for this review: Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your group had such an enjoyable day at Acqua Plus and made the most of the rides and facilities. We appreciate your tips for future visitors, especially about arriving early to avoid the crowds and the convenience of the wristband system. We’re pleased you found the food reasonably priced and enjoyed the variety of options available. Your feedback on the slippery slopes and mat extensions is valuable, and we’ll take it into consideration as we work to improve the park’s safety and comfort. Thank you for highlighting the excellent service from our lifeguards and the cleanliness of the park. We hope to welcome you back for another great experience in the future!Written September 13, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 17, 2024
- Tripp LosoEpsom, United Kingdom128 contributionsA fantastic day outThis is a very clean, very well organised, and very well run park. You start by getting a bar coded wrist band. You then pay for a locker. Get changed, put everything in the locker (bar towels) and enjoy the park. All shops, stalls, cafes etc, You charge to the wristband. Then, as you leave you settle up. This means all your cash/cards etc are in the locker. We went in high season and it didnt feel crowded. The transfer was great (from Agios Nikoloas). Minimal queues for the rides. Plenty of loungers and parasols all around the park, so you can find a quiet area, or be by the pool, or around any of the rides. I would highly recommend and go again.Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you found our park clean, well-organized, and efficiently run. It’s great to know that the wristband system, transfer service, and variety of loungers and parasols contributed to a pleasant visit. We’re also pleased that you enjoyed the minimal queues and the overall experience, even during high season. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another fantastic day at the park!Written September 13, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 21, 2024

During our stay in Koutouloufari, we visited Acqua Plus as a group of 5 adults on a Sunday.
For anyone staying in the Hersonissos area the park is a short 10/15 minute ride by taxi. The opening time is 10am and we arrived shortly after to little queuing. Upon entrance each guest is given a wrist band that is scanned when purchasing anything in the park, the balance of which is then payed at the exit. A good idea which allows guests to walk around the park cash free.
There's a wide variety of slides, some of which look a bit dated but we all felt safe and never queued more than 5 minutes for a ride. The ring slides were fun but a lot of the body slides can hurt your back. There isn't a wave pool but an Olympic size Swimmingpool, behind which are several of the biggest slides, suitable for the thrill seekers. There's also a decent length lazy river, although acquiring a ring can be difficult at peak times.
The children's area is equipped with all the standard slides and aqua play areas, including the obligatory giant tipping bucket.
However, their dining experience puts even the most prestigious of water parks to shame. There's a very efficient one-way system, with an impressive variety of food, which opens out into a huge out-door dining area. We spent about €12 pp and had more than enough for lunch.
There are plenty of sun beds dotted about the park as well as bars and adequate changing facilities. It's €5 for a locker although we found 1 large locker was more than enough for 5 of us.
One downside is a lot of the flooring leading up to the rides can become slippy when wet which is especially uncomfortable when carrying a ring, as well as too hot to walk on later in the day.
As water parks go this was very fun and worth the €30 per person, a worthwhile day out for anyone staying in the area.

We travelled to the park from our hotel Caldera Palace by taxi, €17 euros there and €15 euros back. I preferred to do it this way as we could please ourselves and were not tied to a coach transfer.
We purchased the tickets through our hotel, buying tickets in advance doesn’t really make any difference as you have to queue up when you get there to get your wristband. The park operates on a wristband system where you purchase lunch, drinks etc and then pay on exit. This did mean we were queuing to exit the park which was quite annoying when all you wanted to do was leave and get back.
The park in general had some pretty cool slides, but be warned some slides do really hurt your back on the ridges where the slide is joined together. The queues for the slides was good, it didn’t take longer than 5 minutes for the day we went. There was plenty of free sun beds and parasols and lockers (at a charge) to put your belongings in.
All in all, it was a good day.

Fabulous water park. Went 28th May, no queues.
On entry all get wristbands, wheee everything is charged to, and pay at end. One half of the park opens at 12.30. Many slides, something to suit all. Some slides have a minimum age of 8.
Lunch-usual pizza, pasta, sandwiches, suitable to suit all…..
Best day out on holiday.

A great waterpark with full of fun and excitement for everyone! A variety of slides will satisfy all ages from kids to adults.
When we got there, a lot of care had been given to COVID-19 precautions, like disinfection of sunbeds, distanced tables at the restaurant, distancing of people awaiting for the slides, staff wearing masks, etc.
We had a really funny experience there. You should get there early, so you have all day available to enjoy the whole of the park.
4 stars are given because of the slippy walkways to the slides. The floor is unacceptably slippery. Never run when you go to slides! Just walk, slowly and carefully. You 'll get your speed on the slides

Dear KostisKonto
Thank you for your review helping us improve Acquaplus waterpark hersonissos Crete.
Some spots in proximity of waterslides are sometimes wet so special signage is dedicated to inform guests fo eventually wet floor.
Floors and stairs are treated with special antislippery coating enriched with granulated material to prevent accidental slips.
We are glad you had such a nice time, Thank you for your comments, hope to see you again at Acquaplus waterpark hersonissos Crete.

On the basis of having had a decent day out, it’s gets a 3, to counter balance numerous negatives.
Decent rides, large space, lots of beds and umbrellas, not too crowded and so queues never too bad.
But if this place is still open in 2-3 years time, it will have needed some major investment and tarting up.
Can only assume it’s a victim of the impact of Covid on tourist traffic - looks like little has been done to maintain / improve rides or facilities in perhaps five years.
Staff numbers are lacking, which leaves chance of safety issues. Gardens becoming overgrown, walkways very slippery and ridiculously steep in places (why not steps ?).
Entrance to the park was painfully slow. One person taking tickets or payment and one person attaching wristbands.
Tip. Ignore the “no food / drink” rule. There simply aren’t enough staff to even bother to check. And the food offering is predictably average (although gladly not the rip off prices it could be).

Great place to spend the day!
We rented a car, to go to Acqua Plus as the first stop on our journey, and it was a great experience. We had lots of fun. You'll pay for a bracelet that gets scanned, each time you order drinks, ice cream, food etc (restaurant opens at 12:00). They scan your barcode, and you pay when you exit.
The "hardcore" half of the park opens after noon time. Meaning the crazy slides. We didn't try those, but they look insane :D
It's not the cheapest place to eat, but, hey, they have to pay their water bill somehow! We had an awesome day.

Visited here whilst staying nearby. Upon entry to the park I noticed that everything was looking a bit ‘dated’ and in need of an upgrade. Definitely not worth the price tag.
Pros
•splash pool/park really good for the kids
•wristbands to pay so you don’t need to keep going back to locker for money
Cons
•Very tired and dated
•Floor gets very slippy, mats down in certain areas but this is falling apart and is a trip hazard (actually witnessed a teenage girl slip and fall and looked like she injured her hip…had to be carried off on a stretcher)
•some of the slides are not staffed so be careful of people coming down the slides straight after you.
•lots of pushing and shoving in the queues especially for crazy river.
•website shows a children’s play area and bouncy castle, neither was there when we visited.
•the website states there are 20+ lifeguards on site, unfortunately I didn’t see evidence of this and the ones that were there were staffing multiple sections on their own which is virtually impossible.
•the section at the back as you walk into the park (large slides etc) only opened at lunch time even though the website implies that everything opens at 10. I don’t know whether this is a regular thing or they were short staffed that day.
•food…not the best, not the worst.
Overall I definitely don’t think it’s worth the money especially with young children and won’t be returning.

Fantastic family day out. Due to covid very quite in Crete which benefited us as the water park was much quieter. We were on and off of slides all day. Great range of slides for all ages and an amazing splash park for little ones.No queues and reasonably priced food. We booked tickets and coach transfer with local tour shop as much better value for money as TUI were charging double the price.

It’s a No for us. A waste of money and if you are a family better to hire a car and enjoying visiting the island!
We took our teenage daughter and hoped for a fun and relaxing day out. Transfer pick up was on time, but we then spent 1.5hrs traversing through villages finally making it to the park (which was 10km from our hotel!).
We then had the joy of long queues to enter the park and slow progress caused by many people jumping the queue. The facilities when inside were ok, a lot of climbing (to be expected for a waterpark) but it did feel overcrowded at times. Too many people not willing to give up the very limited inflatable rings.
At the end of the day we had a transfer booked for 17:00. At 17:20 we were still waiting for people who were walking over to the bus slowly! The transfer fun was made in reverse!
Luckily we did hire a car earlier in the week and toured some beautiful parts of the East Crete island. If we had of know we might well have driven here just for a few hours on the park.

As a couple we had a nice day out in Acqua Plus, no queues as the park was not so busy (due to Covid) we bought are tickets at the gate, price €27.00, I believe if you go online and buy before you can get slightly better price. Big slides in the park did not open till around 12.00 which is the only down side.
Great day out for kids & family’s or even couples.

I’m on a P&O cruise and port in Heraklion for a day. I would like to visit the water park. It’s for two. Does anyone know the best way to get there, that’s a fair price and flexible on transfer times?
I saw the water park offers a pick up / drop off service, but it looks like just from hotels. I’ve tried contacting the water park several times but they never reply.

When buying a ticket online, it has no date, so can it be used anytime in the season

I am not a comfortable swimmer at all but I’m okay if I can reach the bottom. I am 5 ft 7 , would any rides be suitable for me?

i am also not a confident swimmer.i had no problems on any of the rides entering the water at the end of the ride, They are shallow enough for you to stand up at least just below your shoulders

Are there taxis available outside the park or do you have to order one?

The water park has their own return shuttle service, which is the cheapest option - included within park ticket.
€41 euros for 1 adult ticket and return shuttle.
To make a booking, contact them via Facebook Messenger (very impressive response time).
Don’t bother emailing them as they won’t respond.

Sorry about the slow delay.
Ask on the way in or any member of friendly staff.
I saw plenty of that age/similar queueing up!
We queued with our daughter who’s 11 and myself and she had second thoughts doing the Tsunami!
Still I hope it was worth it.
