I went to visit the place with my family and found the name itself a misnomer and misguiding. There is no pine forest within view . The place is hardly a small nursery that too not maintained well . The entry fee is unnecessary and they don’t have adequate car parking space yet charge for the car .
Anyway the saving grace was the roses in bloom and the gay and colour ful mountain flowers who can make any glum face break into a smile. It was a nice photo opportunity for a selfie or a groupfie .
Overall I will recommend you to come here to for a look at the cacti and take a selfie with the flowers.
Beware, there are no restrooms on the property.

First of all the woman selling tickets tried to overcharge me 100 rupees. Be careful, check the posted prices outside the gate. At one time this must have been amazing, but now it’s very poorly maintained, one of the greenhouses are closed because the cacti have overgrown their space and there is no where to walk. Feels like a garden center (steins) that in the states we walk in for free. Nothing special even for plant lovers.

Nursery having wide varieties of beautiful and rare cactus. Must visit place for cactus and succulent lovers. Nursery has a nominal entry fee and interested people can purchase cactus from here as well.

Located on Atisha Road Kalimpong, this nursery houses and displays wide varieties of exotic cactai and mountain plants. This place to house 1500 species of cactus collected over a period of 40 years from across the world. Sheer size and shapes and colours of the cactai exhibited here will keep you mesmerized. There is a souvenirs shop from where the plants lovers can buy cactai and succulent indoor plants. I bought a nice species of succulent plants called Ghost Plant. It costs ₹1000. They pack it nicely and give you essential caring and watering instructions. Inside the area , there are few cafes to relax over a hot cuppa and some quick bites as well. They have also home stays inside the atea, if you want to stay within cactai .

This is one of the tourist attractions in Kalimpong but there is not much to see here. They have several small greenhouses containing different types of cactus but the greenhouses tend to get very hot and the cactuses have overgrown at several places which makes it difficult to walk among them. It does have good eateries inside and other beautiful plants but can be skipped.

You can visit here if you have some extra time with you in Kalimpong. We had one entire day left with us in Kalimpong with no particular plan. So we decided to walk to this place from the main city centre and visit this. We hardly met anyone on the road as most tourists prefer taking a can rather than walking here. But to be honest I enjoyed my journey here more than the destination. The climb though was steep but was beautiful.
The main destination was OKish. You might get bored if you are not a plant lover. The place has a large variety of cacti. You can get some cool shots and then mostly you are done. There is a small shop in the nursery selling cactus which you can buy and bring back home. The main point is if you have quite some time in Kalimpong or if you love to see different varieties of plants then only you should go here.

Pine View Nursery is a must visit for tourist traveling to Kalimpong in West Bengal, India. The beauty, variety and number of both Cactus and Succulent will definitely mesmerize anyone visiting the place. There is a nominal entry fee to the Nursery. It is really difficult to resist buying some of the blooming cactus and vibrant succulent. We ended up buying three in fact though the price is little on higher side, it seemed.

A must visit with family, when you are on a visit to Kalimpong. This is my fourth time to this place, and like every time the collection of cacti amazes me. A person who loves plants will surely enjoy this place.
The approach road to this place is a steep ascent from the main Reshi Road, so it is suggested to hire a car/cab. Hiking lovers can enjoy a walk. The nursery area is well-maintained, and the inside area has a panoramic view of the Kalimpong town. One food joint is also there inside.

It has some excellent cacti but the ones for sale were very routine and common and hence disappointing.
It has turned into a tourist trap despite some very nice specimens.
Poor approach road with difficult parking.
No guide to talk and explain about the cacti and succulents.
There are better nurseries for those interested in buying or even just eyeing them
