This big monastery was visited and blessed by His Holiness Dalai Lama. It offers stunning views on the surrounding mountains.

Durpin Dara Hill is nice place offers panoramic mountain view of snow covered himaliyan peaks. Atop the hill sits the Zang Dhok Palri Monastery which was consecrated by the Dalai Lama in 1976.

A peaceful getaway that one would cherish for long. A must visit even though it's a bit away from the town. Best way after reaching kalimpong is to hire a local cab and go around seeing places rather than searching for places and parkings as roads are narrow at many a places and roadside parkings makes things harder.

Well worth the walk or taxi ride up to the top with views over Kalimpong. A good place for peace and quiet away from the hubbub of Kalimpong

There are two tourist spots in Kalimpong in two different directions. One is Durpin Dara Hill and the other is Delo. 30 years back when I visited Kalimpong I really enjoyed the pristine surroundings of Durpin Dara and the spectacular view that it’s winding road offers. The famous Morgan House and Hilltop hotels are situated on this route. Locals say the heritage Morgan House hotel which is now run by the Tourism Dept of WB Govt is a haunted place. This time I was thoroughly disappointed to witness the wretched road conditions and the shabby surroundings. It wasn’t worth visiting.
