The entry procedures were a bit daunting - photocopies of vaccination certificates, aadhar cards etc for our large group of 8 people, also phones are not allowed inside the temple, so plan accordingly. It was too crowded. But walking around the main temple and visiting the other smaller temples was a good experience and in general felt very good vibes in the temple complex. Weather was also very pleasant.

Favorite part of the temple is famous history and beautiful view. Please carry vaccination certificate and Aadhaar card (Must) other wise no entry. Don't give any money to others except drop in Hundi. Private people including priests looting the public. No control of committee. Before taking any prasadam, please bargain. Other wise end up with cheating, argument and looting. There is no good kind of "prasadam" like Titupati. it is utter failure of committee. No COVID rules at DARSHAN close to god. Take care of Kinds and Elders.

Visited the temple on 28-Dec-21. We took the help of panda, arranged by our hotel. As per their advice, visited the temple in early morning at 7 am, when there was moderate crowd. We were told that the queue of devotee becomes too long in late morning. For entry in the temple, both doses of vaccination certificate and one photo id are mandatory. There are shops outside the temple where one can obtain print out of certificates at certain cost, but hard copy of certificate is not mandatory. We didn't have hard copy of certificate and hence shown certificate thro mobile and voter id card at entry gate. Post crossing the entry gate, there are counters outside the temple for keeping the shoe and mobile at free of cost, where we deposited our belongings. Needless to mention, no photography inside the temple is allowed. When we entered the main temple premises at around 7.30 am, darshan was closed for devotees till 8 am. For such time, our panda took us through the temple premises that included booking puja, visiting other temples inside the campus, sacred kitchen, etc. The entire temple premises were neatly maintained. After re-starting the darshan at 8 am, we queued for darshan and within 15-20 minutes, could complete it. The entry inside the main temple and darshan was though packed and exhorting. The entry and exit to the temple are from different gates. It was a blissful darshan of Lord Jagnnath.

Reviewing Jagannath Temple itself is a shame to reviewer. But I'll point out some facts here. Bring your Covid double dose certificate with Aadhar card copy to have a hassle free entry. Some thugs do try to earn some money if you do not have a printed covid certificate. Tell the man at the counter that you have a certificate in your mobile and request him to allow to keep the mobile at cloak room after successful verification/entry. Kids are also allowed not like at Lingaraj temple where kids are not allowed now. Cloak room sometimes becomes too much crowded. Make time accordingly. Entry and exit are different inside the temple. Beaware of monkeys near navagraga temple. They take away ladies purses. Have prasad inside Anand Bazar and buy prasad there only. Some prasads are sold outside too. But those are not prasads. Puja offerings by visitiors are not performed due to covid. So avoid getting cheated by any pandas in the name of puja inside the temple. Heritage corridor has given a charm to temple premises.

Too crowded. Our Panda was good - but it took him one hour of maneuvering with us to get us as close as possible to the idol without getting stampeded. We were also disappointed that foreigners are not allowed. But we felt the power of the temple and it was a good religious experience
