It is a small nice place to visit those who love art work. It has one small Buddhist temple, craft centre with few artists creating statues & last one sale centre. I visit the place on 24.05.2018. A lady came to open the sale centre. Just after 3-4 minutes she asked us to finish quickly. Sale centre was very hot. Instead of AC she only switched on the fan. After 4-5 minutes she started switch off all fans. Being surprised we came out from sale centre. Then & there she shut down the centre & went inside. But as per their timing we went over there.I am not a very rich person who may afford to spend lakhs of rupees. But I am a art lover & I have small collection in my house. That day also I went over there to buy something within 10-15 thousand. But she did not allow us to do that.

The Sudarshan Craft Museum has been there since last several years and has been a school of stone carving along with the Museum and Buddha Temple. Started by Mr Sudarshan, a very humble and master craftsman, the museum showcases beautiful stone sculptures and also a school par excellent in imparting of sculpturing.

The place is just near Puri station..The name Museum is a little misleading..It is a craft centre with a Sales room

There are 3 parts in it:

1) One small Buddhist temple, some call is Japanese temple as well
2) Craft centre where you will find two / three artists are creating some statues
3) A small sales centre with the statues made in the craft centre.

A nice one.. But no harm even if you skip it

to my surprise, there is a japanese temple in puri. Beautifully crafted with Japanese Buddha Images and Idols . and intriguing beautiful example of Japanese architecture in Puri . Also one can see various scultures and idols carved from stone or wood at the exhibition on ground floor.

Sudarshan Craft Museum is the abode of very fine art work. You can find sculptures built in stone and wood on display here. There are several different paintings on display. You also get to visit the workshop in the premises where you can see artisans in action making new sculptures. There is a Buddhist temple in the complex.

If you are interested in buying sculptures or looking at craftsman peacefully sculpting their latest work then you should visit Sudharshan Crafts museum. Located on station road, this is a quaint and peaceful place which also houses a Buddhist monastery. Though the monastery was closed at the time we visited, the area is well maintained as is a sweet place to visit. You can buy sculptures from the museum inside. A good option if you are looking to pick up sculptures of Buddha, Ganesha and other deities. They also have the option of sending you your purchases by courier.
