It is one of the Sakthi Perth inside Puri Temple Complex. As Mobile Phones are not allowed inside the temple premises one cannot capture any photos. This was the second Shakthi Peeth we visited during this trip. Biraja Devi temple at Jajpur was the other we visited

It is believed that many years ago, where the present temple stands brahma,Vishnu and Maheswar were worshipped.Vimala is the form of Parvati and a shaktipitha inside the jagannath temple. It is also believed that before entering the main Jagannath Temple you have to have darshan of Goddess Vimla. Though it is a small temple but always crowded. The Prasad of Jagannath temple is known as abadha after it is offered to Vimala.

This is one of the temples in the Puri Jagannadh temple complex, and is reminiscent of the grandeur of the temple architecture. If you walk with your panda, you will not miss this temple.

It's one of the shakthi peeth located within Jangannath temple. The pandas in Vimala devi shrine are the worst. They sell bangles and sindoor for Rs 20. Once the pilgrims buy them, they let me close to goddess and the panda there does some pooja for 2 mins and then he demands money. He never accepts donation less than Rs 100. They are the worst pandas, I have ever seen. The shrine is neatly maintained. I request the pilgrims to go and pray peacefully and offer the donations to the lord without taking any help from the pandas.

Vimala Devi temple situates within the courtyard of Sri Jagannath temple. It is a must see not only because it is a part of all the small ancillary deities kept within the prmise of Sri Jagannath temple but for its mythological speciality. In Jagannath temple all Bhog and Prasad is vegetarian and non-veg not allowed. But during Durga Puja festival Non veg articles are offered as Bhog of Vimala Devi. Myth says that during non - veg offerings at that temple on Durga Puja Festival Lord Jagannath is first kept asleep so that He can not see it..
This a Sati Peeth, when Lord Shiva was carrying Sati's body after her death Lord Bishnu cut her body into pieces. One such piece viz. FOOT felled here. So it is called Sati Peeth. Daily after offering Bhog to Lord Jagannath the same Bhog articles are once again offered to Vimala Devi
and then the Bhog is transformed to MAHA PRASAD. But Pandas within this temple occassionally harass devotees on differnt excuses , they even curse devotees if their surmons are not followed. So try to avoid them and donot touch their articles - threads, sindur, sankha , coin etc. Just tender a Pronam to the deity and calmly leave.

This is a shati peeth, and NOT a shakti peeth as told by some here.

Part of Devi sati fell here,as per folklore, and hence this is the only place of Shakti or Mother worship in this otherwise vaishnavaite city of Odisha.

The temple is located inside Sri Jagannath temple complex of Puri, hence off limits strictly to non-Hindus and photography is strictly prohibited inside the Si Jagannath Temple complex, hence here to is banned.

I had been to Puri no of times .Truly speaking , this is one of the Powerful Shakti Pitha of Orissa. But be careful when you try to visit Bimala Temple which is inside the premises of Jagannath temple. Pandas try to cheat people here. If you try to offer prayer to Deity (Maa Bimala) , you may be cheated here. Sometimes they may extract up to Rs. 500 /- for offering puja.

Dear All Devotees,
This is one of 51 Satipitha , located inside Shree Jagannath Temple. She is the Consort of Lord Jagannath, Devi is very much blessfull,
Looking to Deity, you feel that you are in front of Maa. Go & have dharshan.
It is believed that Devi Vimala is in charge of Jagannath ji's kitchen, Bhogo is offered to Maa Vimala after it is offered to Jagannath Ji.
Beware of panda, they always try to fool you. They are keeping some golden colour coins of different sizes and fool devotees. Also they will allow you to enter in front of Maa Vimala after paying 100 INR. It is your wish.
Wish you go & have dharshan along with Jagannath Ji & get blessing of Maa Vimala.
