This is the place that never be old I.e. Puri Beach. You can spend countless time either alone or friends/ family just see weavs. You can enjoy the beauty by sit back in chair and just paid 100/- for 3 chair and umbrella in day or @20/- per chair in evening. You can taste various sweets, samosa or famous Modon mohon. You can see some sand art in the beach. This Beach is very clean and well accessible, despite many people visiting here. The sunrise and the sunset of the beach is the most attraction. Puri Beach has three parts, Golden beach, Swargadwar Beach, Marine drive beach. In swargadwar area maximum people are visited because this beach also offers activities like camel ride, horse rides, shopping, etc. Marine drive is extended part of beach and golden beach is famous for private beach.

Puri Beach is a major tourist attraction throughout the year. It is an all-time favorite destination and charms us in every visit. A long and clean beach with white sand and gentle waves, the beach mesmerizes the tourists with its beauty. Different parts of long beach are named differently like Golden Beach, Swargadwar Beach etc. Good to see that the local vendors and municipality workers are working hard to maintain the cleanliness of the beach. The beach offers beautiful view of sunrise and sunset. tourists can also sit back and enjoy the beauty of the beach and surrounding, can take a dip in the sea, or can simply watch the waves. The beach also offers activities like camel ride, horse rides, shopping, etc. Many food stalls as well as movable vendors can be found on the beach, selling tea / coffee, jhalmuri, sweets, etc. There is provision to hire beach chairs @ Rs. 20 per hour. In the evening, under elimination, the beach road looks stunning. The beaches also have wonderful sand sculptures created by the renowned artist Sudarshan Patnaik. With numerous beach facing hotels and restaurants, it is an ideal location for tourists to spend lovely moments with your family or friends.

Puri beach was excellent!!
Beach is open to public from 5 AM to 10 PM. Though I have not been to any popular beaches elsewhere, I loved this beach.
Beach is clean and there is a constant effort made by local authorities to keep it clean. Unlike many other 'popular' beaches Puri beach is not visited by many and that has kept it so pristine and enjoyable. I visited the beach at 5:30 AM in the morning and with very few people around it felt like it was mine.
Along with a spectacular sunrise I enjoyed hundreds of crabs who roam around and quickly dig in the sand if anybody comes too close. I did not see any hawkers who constantly pester you, neither were any stray dogs to spoil you experience.
I went back at night around 9:30 PM and again there very few people around. I lied down and listened to the waves crashing near me. Cool sea breeze under the moonlit sky took away all my tiredness and I relaxed lying still till 10 PM when a guard asked me to leave as beach closes at 10 PM.
If you are in Puri make sure that you visit this beach. Puri is a crowded place, specially near Jagannath Temple, but authorities have made sure that beach remains pristine and you do not see that madness here.

Puri is always the favourite sea beach for all Bengalis and indeed, it should be. The clean beach, the big waves, shopping in the beach market and enjoying Madana mohana (a type of sweet) - what more can one ask for.
Add to that, the beautiful sand arts being done in the beach by artists.
My little one loved to play in the sands and build sand castles.
Also enjoy the cool breeze in the evening. Book a chair (Rs 10 or 20 /hour) and sit for hours on the beach.

The Puri beach is on the shores of Bay of Bengal. Most of hotels are lined up facing the broad strip of sand. The beach is always frequented by the bathers and also persons wish to enjoy the beauty. There are Nuliyas who help you to bathe in the waves. Again , there are vendors selling Jhal Muri , fried fish , sweets , tea / coffee etc. The beach remains crowded till late in the night. Being bang opposite to hotels the area is reasonably safe. Except the monsoon season the waves are manageable. There are plastic chairs available on rent for Rs.20/- an hour.

We visited for 2 days. Stayed in a hotel near to beach, Reba Beach Resort.
During first day we spent sometime in beach and second half in Sri Johnathan temple. In see beach one can spend couple of hours to buy crafts and there are many veg and non-veg snacks to eat.
In 2nd day we visited Satapada for boating and to see dolphins. Dolphins seen sometime and rarely. We shared a boat among 4 from OTDC. For Satapada we catch local bus from main bus stand.
As auto rickshaws cheat, it's better to use town/city bus runs from Sri Johnathan temple to Loknath temple.

This brown-sand beach on the Bay of Bengal was filled with visitors along with food sellers and vendors. Even with someshat cool weather in February the crowds seemed to be enjoying themselves.
I didn't think it was one of the best looking beaches I've seen, but again it was popular.

Puri beach is lovely in a natural way but you don't get the typical beach activities you expect on a beach such as snorkeling, scuba, jet ski etc. Having said that, its one of the best beaches if u like a dip in the sea and want to watch sunrise because most part of the year the horizon is clear. Best time to visit is from Oct to March.

I have no idea about hiring cars in Orissa. I always travelled by train or taken the travel car from Calcutta. From Bhubaneshwar to Cuttack it is around 45 kilometers.
I would like to know if beach and water activities will be open in 31 August 2021

I don't think so as it will be monsoon in August and the sea is quite rough there

You can as many properties are operational now. Try Empire Hotel, Puri in Balia Ponda, on the beach (only a road between hotel rear entrance and the beach). Good property with helpful staffs--hopefully you will enjoy your stay.

The other answers look adequate.
I have organized a Puri trip with 60 people by bus. Can I hire a mini bus from puri bus stand to hotel near swargadwar? And what will be the exact mini bus fair?

Puri bus stand to Swargadwar is a short distance. Unless you have old people travelling, you don't really need to book a bus. Tell your group to take rickshaws or autos - both are available in plenty.
By the way, how are you reaching the bus stand? If a bus is dropping you there, you might as well ask the bus to drop you off close to the Swargadwar instead.
Am I allowed to stay whole night at Puri beach?

Typically you can't, I mean if you want to spent whole night with beer in your hand and sleep over like Goa, but you can go to the beach any time you want, I went there around 2.30AM and stroll till 4.00AM, but yes cops and lifeguards will irritate you to the core and not to forget about the stray dog. Beware of them at night.
P.S: There are many budget hotel just opposite to puri Bech, get one and enjoy the beach fullest
I want to visit PURI with my family by August 1st week. Is this right time to visit.

Puri has two primary attractions, first - Temple of Lord Jagannath and second - Puri beaches. It depends upon your primary focus to visit Puri.
That said, if you have decided to visit in August, I would recommend that you should visit. It is a call of Lard Jagannath and Temple door are always open to welcome people. Sea could be a bit choppy in August and violent but I am sure you will be careful. Weather could be hot and humid and do take umbrellas for the family.
Best wishes for a great vacation.
