At the entrance of the falls, there are various shopkeepers selling handicrafts and beverages. There are three stages to the falls and each stage has steep steps to climb up and down. However, it is worth the view.
Amazing pace during rainy season and in winter, if you can go towards the feet of the waterfalls its a great place to get a little wet and have fun - just be sure-footed of the slippery rocks.
Awesome place to visit.
We visited this place on our way from Shillong to Cherrapunjee. One has to cover a lot of steps to enjoy the full beauty of the falls. The main falls is extremely beautiful and has natural surroundings.
Its easy and popular place for all to enjoy 3 level waterfall. one has to take few steps here. But you can not enter in waterfall, just can take pics from side. It wont give vibes of open natural pools like other waterfalls in Sohra.
This is one of the best romantic waterfalls near shillong city, Mattilang Park is next to it. If you are in shillong for holiday, or business trip, do not miss to visit elephant falls, I am sure you will feel relaxed and fresh, the beautiful...More

June would be very good,in my opinion. Shillong & Cherrapunjee are famous and visitworthy for rain. In june, you can enjoy the beauty of rain to the fullest. The famous falls will be full of water, be it in Shillong(Elephant)or Cherrapunjee(Seven sisters & Nakalikai) for which tourists from all over the world come to these places. One small thing, I would like to add that one should stay beside Barapani(Umium)Lake in stead of Shillong town, particularly in lake facing rooms of Orchid Lake Resort of Meghalaya Tourism. Bon voyage and enjoy
